Hiranyagarbha Garbastham Hemabhijam Vibhavaso!!! What does it mean...You must Know & Read to Know...
HIRANYAGARBHA
"Among many beliefs about the beginning of the universe is the mysterious Hiranyagarbha, literally the 'golden egg.' In the Rig Veda, there is a segment in praise of the Hiranyagarbha Suktha, a single supreme creator, and the Upanishads mentions the Golden egg floating in space. Hindu literature is full of references to Hiranyagarbha."
Hiranyagarbha Garbastham Hemabhijam Vibhavaso | Ananthapunya Phaladham Agasanthim Prayachame ||
"ACHARYAYE DHUBYAMAHAM SAMPRATATE NAMAHA...NAMAMA."
Meaning .............
"This seed of gold from the womb of the Almighty, grant infinite virtuous effects to me, quelling all sins". "This is being handed to your goodselves the teacher, with humility".
Thus......It is clear therefore from the above.......
1. Whatever I give you is the property of Almighty only. I am only a trustee handing over.
2. What I give is only a small bit and that bit let it be a seed for the infinite results to me, to you.
It thus exhibits, humility, detachment, gratitude, prayer everything of the giver while making a dakshina!
To offer Dakshina for the services rendered in certain celebrations/functions we chant this sloka place the dakshina on a plate with betel leaves, betel nuts, a couple of bananas, pour an udharani of water from the panchapathram:
"Hiranya garbha garbhastam hemabeejam vibhavaso Anantha punya phaladam adha santim prayachamee"
How many grihasthas understand the meaning?
This is the mantra used by the grihasthas for giving the dakshisna to the Acharyas/Gurus/Pandits/learned to request them to accept the Dakshina in order to get the full blessings of God for the work they did.
Here the Hiranya Garba refers to the creator. Hiranyagarbha, meaning the golden womb, is the source of the creation of the universe.
According to Hinduism and the Puranas, Hiraṇyagarbha is the term used in the Vedanta for the "creator". Hiraṇyagarbha is also a name for Lord Brahma, because he was born from the “golden womb”.
Hiranyagarbha is Sanskrit which means the golden womb (or the Golden Orb) and is the source for the creation of the whole Universe or cosmos in Hindu philosophy.
In the Rig Veda we have a suktha dedicated to Hiranya Garbham.
The Hiraṇyagarbha Sūkta of the Rig Veda declares that God or Lord manifested Himself in the beginning as the Creator of the Universe, encompassing all things, including everything within Himself, the collective totality, as it were, of the whole of creation, animating it as the Supreme Intelligence. He is the Supreme personality known as Lord Hari.
Hiranyagarbha was what underlies the extant Brahmanda (meaning universe). According to the Rig Veda, There was only the Hiranyagarbha at the beginning. The details of that beginning are found in the nAsadIya suktam. The actual Hiranyagarbha Sukta describes how there was the Hiranyagarbha at the beginning, and how Prajapati expanded it into the extant Universe (Brahmanda) because avidya arose in his mind, entering Akasha and Kala (roughly translated as space and time, respectively).
In the Puranas the universe is termed as ‘Hiranyagarbha’ meaning the ‘golden womb’ or the ‘cosmic golden egg’.
Within this egg are all the galaxies all the solar systems, planets and all life. In this scenario the sum total of all life present inside this egg is the creation of the God-Brahma and here ‘Hiranyagarbha’ means ‘Brahma' himself.
In Upanishads we come across the word ‘virat’.......What does it mean ?
The sum total of our existence in this universe.
