Bhog or Prasad?

Each Hindu God and Goddesses like a particular kind of food. Devotees offer that particular food as Bhog, or Prasad, to get the blessing of the deity. So which food should be offered to Goddess Lakshmi as Bhog or Prasad?

Kheer or Payasam.
Yellow Color Food like chana dal mixed with jaggery.
Kesar or Saffron milk.
Banana and other yellow color fruits.
A person seeking the blessing of Goddess Laxmi should offer food made using rice. The best offering is Kheer (rice, sugar, and milk), or payasam (rice mixed with jaggery).

Kesar (saffron) is another food item that is auspicious.

The best day to make the food offering to Goddess Lakshmi is Friday. In some regions, especially in Orissa it is Thursday

The food should be offered during morning or evening puja and should be taken away when the puja is completed. It should be then distributed as Prasad among family members, relatives, friends, and neighbors.

It is believed that those people who make food made of rice to Goddess Lakshmi will always be blessed with wealth and prosperity.............&............Now,,,,,

Story of Origin of Saffron or Kesar in Hinduism.

Story of origin of saffron or kesar in Hinduism is associated with the Trimurtis. The legend is mentioned in the Matsya Purana. Shiva the formless took a form for the first time and appeared before Vishnu and Brahma as a huge pillar of fire known as Lingodabavamurti.

Saffron was produced from the saubhagya or fortune that rested on the chest of Vishnu. The saubhagya melted due to the heat generated by the appearance of Shiva. Saffron appeared from the melted saubhagya.

This legend is found in Matsya Purana (60.9).
