Is Soul a problematic word.......No......If conceived...&.... understood with clarity.....
This should be of good use to all those practising YOGA and Learning YOGA
Is Soul a problematic word.......No......If conceived and understood with clarity.....
Why do you identify as and use the word 'soul?' It is a word that many people use and have little idea of what it means. It is likely that they use it because other people use it, and that is precisely the problem. It is an enigma. Ask a dozen people, and most will look like a deer caught in headlights, and the remainder will have a fuzzy definition but agree that the word represents something more. Even the religions it comes from are often mystified by it.
Possibly you need a better term. One with more clarity for you and in communication. If you practice yoga, why not use the nomenclature of yoga?
Why not embrace 'you' are light and eternal consciousness. The Hindu terms Atman and Purusha can convey this. In some traditions, 'you' are part of everything. Terms such as paratman and Purusha represent this.
Why not recognize 'you' are the Sun, which is symbolic of light and consciousness. Devas such as Surya and Savitā convey this.......And....If you believe you are one with divinity, why not use saguna Brahman-light and consciousness with attributes. If you believe you are divinity beyond qualities--consciousness with no attributes, use nirguna Brahman.
If you are atman or Purusha that has incarnated, taken form--you are jiva. But always remember, 'you' are more than form, more than the emotions, more than your thoughts. 'You' are Purusha! You are Atman! You are the Sun. You are Brahman (with or without attributes.)
When you use terms such as Atman, Purusha, Surya, Nirguna/Saguna Brahman, you immediately communicate with clarity and authority from the nomenclature of yoga. If they are not familiar with the nomenclature of yoga, it is an opportunity to help others learn and grow.
The one illuminates the many is.................LIGHT!!!!!!!!
Enjoy A Blissful Day ..... with your FAMILY.
