Her message to schools is a simple affirmation, "Who I am makes a difference—a social vaccine uniting youth and community to make a difference." She told a number of inspiring stories, one of which is about a teacher who one day acknowledged every student in the class. The teacher spoke to all his students, one at a time, expressing how he appreciated them and mentioning the qualities in them that he valued. He was very careful to verbalize specific qualities for each student. It was not just a generalization, such as "You are wonderful," "You are smart." Rather, the teacher strove to really see the person and acknowledge that student for the different fine qualities that he or she had. Part of this process was what some call a "pay forward." The teacher gave each student two ribbons with the assignment to appreciate one more person outside of the class and then give that person a ribbon with which to appreciate someone else. It is because these days are natural opportunities to express appreciation. "Okay, it's Mother's Day. What do we do? Appreciate Mother!" It is a great time to share our appreciation, and, as Gurudeva says, be specific. Talk about specific points, because that will make her feel you really thought about it and your appreciation has heartfelt sincerity behind it. In June we have Father's Day, the man's turn, and in September we have Grandparent's Day.
A few years ago a number of our youth devotees in Malaysia held a surprise Mother's Day event. Let me share part of their description of it. "After the normal satsang events, bhajans and meditation, we announced our surprise, got each amma to come forward and stand in front, and each of her children put a huge garland on her and gave her a bookmark, a card, and a beautiful single rose package (all done by us), and prostrated to each amma's feet, hugged her and wished her well on this day. By now, most ammas were already busy wiping away small bits of tears from their eyes!"
Our last story of appreciation is about the boss of one of our devotees. She was quite happy about a new job, in particular the way in which her new boss showed appreciation to her and others in her work group. She begins: "I really did want to show my appreciation to my boss and what better way than to show it on Boss's Day? I marked it on my calendar and took him to lunch at a restaurant of his choosing and got him some gifts. When I did this, all of my co-workers were reminded about Boss's Day. They too went out to get balloons, gifts and cards for their boss as well. The two supervisors said they did not even realize that it was Boss's Day. They had never celebrated it before, and they were so thankful for everything. As a matter of fact, both bosses were overjoyed that we thought about them, as they have been doing a lot for us."
In conclusion, make the gratitude and appreciation sadhanas part of your life. Take time to write down the many events for which you are thankful. TEST AND TASTE OF LOVE ?

DON'T DO THINGS IN HASTE AND MAKE WASTE
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening
appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as
it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it
seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had
gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther. Then the
man decided to help the butterfly, so he took a pair of scissors
and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly
then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body (or head) and
small, shriveled wings.
The man continued to watch the butterfly
because he expected that at any moment the wings would enlarge
and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract
in time. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest
of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled
wings. It never was able to fly.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If God
allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles, it would
cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.

UP'S AND DOWN'S IN LIFE :-
Up's and down's in life are inevitable facts, moreso in financial aspect. This happens to majority of the people and only degree and density varies. All the reasons presented herein may be considered as justifiable and acceptable and to be considered as an eye opener to the growing and younger generation. There are many good things one is supposed to inherit from the predecessors, and when this does'nt happen and work, its for the elders in the family to have these inculcated in the children for good.
Money and wealth management is an Art as well as Science. Apply Art whenever required and apply Science wherever required, so that one does not fall into the pit and look for salvation and rescue.
According to me there are two main factors that will help one to escape from falling into the pit arising out of financial constraints.
1.Relationship;
This has become a sinking ship in most of the families and number of ships has sunk and still people don’t learn and realize. Many people who have become the victims of financial constraints did not maintain proper and adequate relationship maintence skills and knowledge within their family members and relatives. The reasons put forth are flimsy, unjustifiable and to put in two words “Mere Non-sense”. All types of relationship, say close knit, middle knit and distant knit have now entangled with irremovable knots, the main reasons being, false promises and not keeping up words, jealous, ego, greed, sore-eye, cheap thrills at ones own kith and kin’s sufferings etc. If only parents take adequate care and precaution for relationship maintenance 90% of the problems will be solved and remaining 10% will vanish after seeing 90% of the problems solved. Ensure to teach children maintaining relationship with Love, respect, cordiality and courtesy to your near and dear ones.
2. Planning: In many of the families you will find no planning. This is yet another root cause. Planning is very essential. This is again the responsibility of the Elders in the family to sit together and workout strategies and plans in advance. If the planning is in its right place, at its right time, it goes without saying the budgeting is also with it, as budgeting is very important in ones life and for ones family. There is a good old saying “DO NOT FAIL TO PLAN, UNLESS YOU HAVE PLANS TO FAIL.”(Bear this in mind and act appropriately) Think several times B4 you spent and don’t think to invest in savings for future. Many of us will come to a stage wherein our earning capacity will diminish and at old age only savings will come handy to make an independent living without making to strain your near and dear ones beyond certain ethical limits. If your near and dear ones wants to help and support you, accept it and may be such helps should be put you in a position to make it as a savings.
Be of use to youngsters at your old age by motivating them, inspiring them, inculcating good and ethical values of living and loving.
No one has ever born in this world with possessions nor will any one die taking something with them. It has never happened nor will happen. Only your good actions and deeds will be remembered that too for a limited period- that’s what is world and that’s how we are leading our lives.

LEARN TO ACCEPT THINGS IN LIF AS IT COMES'
A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after
having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San
Francisco.
"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a
friend I'd like to bring home with me."
"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."
"There's something you should know," the son continued, "he was
hurt pretty bad in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and
lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him
to come live with us."
"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find
somewhere to live."
"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."
"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking.
Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We
have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this
interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and
forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."
At that point, the son hung up the phone.
The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later,
however, they received a call from the San Francisco police.
Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told.
The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents
flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to
identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their
horror they also discovered something they didn't know --their
son had only one arm and one leg.
Moral of the story: Tune your mind practice to accept things "AS IT IS" in your life.
Anything could happen to any body at any time as living and existence are unguaranteed.

MYSTIC TRUTHS
Mystic Truths
Brahma Jnana is the awareness of God’s presence in all objects of creation and Brahma Dhyana is the meditation on this truth. To realize that all differences in form, name and tendencies are superficial while the indwelling soul is the essence of the eternal truth. The underlying theme in the Upanishads is the establishing the identity of the Brahman and the jeevathma. Since different seers reveal the eternal truth from different angles to enable individuals with varying aptitudes to comprehend it. the Upanishads continue to have a universal appeal. Such open-ended views eschew any trace of dogmatism also.
The stories in the Upanishads set forth the Vedic doctrines such as self-realization, yoga, meditation, karma, reincarnation etc. that are hidden and not easily grasped. The effort and commitment that is needed when one seeks to gain enlightenment about Brahma Jnana is well illustrated in the stories of Janasruthi and Satyakama related in the Chandogya Upanishad.
Janasruthi came to know of Raikva’s fame through the conversation of two celestials in the form of a swan. With offerings that bespoke his munificence, Janasruthi sought Raikva’s instruction. Raikva taught that it is difficult to perceive the Brahman who dwells variously, as He is the self of all celestials, the creator of all beings, and who finally annihilates all
Sathyakama’s enlightenment from Gauthama highlights, the value of straightforwardness and the sanctity of Guru-Shishya relationship. Sathyakama gained Gautahama as his preceptor, because he spoke the truth about his lineage. Gautahama had asked him to tend cows and he did this with utmost commitment for some time. Then the celestials in the form of a bull, fire, swan, water, and bird taught him the subtleties of Brahma Jnana. The preceptor saw the effulgence of Brahma Jnana in the boy, and questioned him about it. The boy replied that though others had taught him, he still wished to be taught by the seer since the knowledge directly learnt from one’s own teacher becomes most beneficial.

Have faith in your Father in as much as in God.
A young man was getting ready to graduate fromcollege.For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's show room, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As graduation day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his room. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him and handed his son a beautifully wrapped gift box.
Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather bound bible. Angrily he raised his voice at his father and said, "with all your money you give me a bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the HOLY book.
Many years passed and the young man was very succesful in business. He had a beautiful home, and wonderful family, but realised his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since the graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a teelegram mentioing that his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son.He needed to reach home immediately and take care of things and when he arrived at his father's house, sudeen sadness and regret filleed his heart.
He began to search his father's important papers and saw the still the new bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the bible and began to turn the pages. As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the bible.. It had a tag with dealer's name , the same dealer whio had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation and the words...".PAID IN FULL.
How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expected ?.

Determination,Desire,Persistence and endurance-To make dream come true.
Determination & Desire with Persistence & Endurance can make dream come true.
In the year 1883, a creative and innovative engineer named Roebling was inspired by an idea to build a spectacular bridge connecting New York with Long Island. However the bridge building experts through out the world thought, this was an impossible feat and told Roebling to forget the idea. It just cannot be done as it was not practical and had never been done before.
Roebling could not give up and ignore the vision he had in his mind of this bridge and thought about it all the time, and knew deep in his heart that it could be done. He just had to share his vision with some one else. After much discussion and persuasion he managed to convince his son Washington, an upcoming engineer, that the bridge in fact could be built.
Working together, for the first time, the father and son developed the concept of how it could be accomplished and how the obstacles could be overcome. With great excitement and inspiration and headiness of a wild challenge before them, they hired their crew and began to build their dream bridge.
The project started off well, but only when it was few months under way, a tragic accident on the site took the life of John Roebling. Washington was injured and left with certain amount of brain damage, which resulted in him not being able to walk or talk or even move.
Negative comments started pouring in
“We told them so”
“Crazy men and their crazy dreams”
“It is foolish to chase a wild vision”
Every one had only negative comments to make and felt that the project should be scrapped since Roeblings were the only ones who knew how the bridge could be built. In spite of his handicap, Washington was never discouraged and still had a burning desire to complete the bridge and his mind was still as sharp as ever.
He tried to inspire and passion his enthusiasm to some of his friends, but they were too daunted by the task. In the year 1883, a creative and innovative engineer named Roebling was inspired by an idea to build a spectacular bridge connecting New York with Long Island. However the bridge building experts through out the world thought, this was an impossible feat and told Roebling to forget the idea. It just cannot be done as it was not practical and had never been done before.
Roebling could not give up and ignore the vision he had in his mind of this bridge and thought about it all the time, and knew deep in his heart that it could be done. He just had to share his vision with some one else. After much discussion and persuasion he managed to convince his son Washington, an upcoming engineer, that the bridge in fact could be built.
Working together, for the first time, the father and son developed the concept of how it could be accomplished and how the obstacles could be overcome. With great excitement and inspiration and headiness of a wild challenge before them, they hired their crew and began to build their dream bridge.
The project started off well, but only when it was few months under way, a tragic accident on the site took the life of John Roebling. Washington was injured and left with certain amount of brain damage, which resulted in him not being able to walk or talk or even move.
Negative comments started pouring in
“We told them so”
“Crazy men and their crazy dreams”
“It is foolish to chase a wild vision”
Every one had only negative comments to make and felt that the project should be scrapped since Roeblings were the only ones who knew how the bridge could be built. In spite of his handicap, Washington was never discouraged and still had a burning desire to complete the bridge and his mind was still as sharp as ever.
He tried to inspire and passion his enthusiasm to some of his friends, but they were too daunted by the task. Probably the greatest example of persistence is Abraham Lincoln.

Born into poverty, Lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his
Life. He lost eight elections, twice failed in business and
Suffered a nervous breakdown. He could have quit many times---but
He didn't and because he didn't quit, he became one of the
greatest presidents in the history of our country. Lincoln was a
Champion and he never gave up. Here is a sketch of Lincoln's road

1816 His family was forced out of their home. He had to work to
support them.

1831 Failed in business
1832 Ran for state legislature - LOST.
1832 Also lost his job - wanted to go to law school but couldn't

A REAL LIFE INCIDENT
A young man was getting ready to graduate fromcollege.For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's show room, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As graduation day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his room. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him and handed his son a beautifully wrapped gift box.
Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather bound bible. Angrily he raised his voice at his father and said, "with all your money you give me a bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the HOLY book.
Many years passed and the young man was very succesful in business. He had a beautiful home, and wonderful family, but realised his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since the graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a teelegram mentioing that his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son.He needed to reach home immediately and take care of things and when he arrived at his father's house, sudeen sadness and regret filleed his heart.
He began to search his father's important papers and saw the still the new bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the bible and began to turn the pages. As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the bible.. It had a tag with dealer's name , the same dealer whio had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation and the words...".PAID IN FULL.

SOME MANAGEMENT QUOTES FOR 2007
Probably the best way to advise a business manager is to facilitate him to deal with the problem by himself. Management quotes are one of the best ways to achieve this. It has capacity and potential to make the person to rethink the situation from different dimensions and in doing so can help to develop new perspective and ideas. It can also add to a new vision and approach to grow better After all it is wrong to have a simple solution to a complex problem.
I earnestly wish that this compilation and presentation of the quotes would be encouraging and useful to managers in business.

KNOW ABOUT ASTRAL World’s LIFE BEFORE REACHING THERE!

Death is nothing but you leave your physical body in a mortal state, leaving this real world and commencing your fast journey towards astral world in the astral form. The mortal remain are either consigned to flames or buried under the earth according to one’s religious belief and faith following certain rituals. Therefore one has to accept the truth and understand the reality that the body (mortal remains) has been disposed off.

HOW TO BECOME AN EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR
If you have willingness to invest time and effort, you can master the skills of effective communication and thereby become an effective communicator.
Some are born with effective communication skills, while some develop it by devoting time and efforts. If you belongs to the latter category, why don’t you accept the above suggestion and go ahead to become an effective communicator. You don’t have to look for a legendary master to develop this skill. It is hidden within you and all that you have to do is put your time and effort to bring it out to put to effective use.
What Jack Welch, Collin Powell, Winston Churchill, N.R. Narayanamoorthy, Azim premji (‘am only citing a few examples) have/had in common. They are all great leaders and effective communicators. They took their mission to success with their sharp and effective communication skills, apart from being great motivators and inspirators, which the present younger generation should accept, adopt and practice in their lives to become like one amongst above named. They did not play any magic to achieve success. They have invested their time and efforts in mastering effective communication skills and did achieve what they focused and planned.
Effective communication with employees is a must by the Managers/Leaders in order to improve performance, build credibility, and derive results and to make a successful organization. Speak out to your employees, particularly at crunch times, or else they will come out with their own conclusions, which will of course be negative and the lot will later negate whatever they have negatively said. Therefore please note that a Leader’s words make a whole lot of difference and leadership communications are built on trust and this cannot be achieved in a day or two and one has to earn it through his good deeds, inspiring thoughts and encouraging words. This will not only prove to be good to the employees but also to the customers, share holders and others connected with the organization. ERODING DEMOCRACY – PREVENT IT
OR ELSE WIILL PERISH
Our nation accomplished independence in 1947 and became a Republic in 1950. But at what cost? At the cost of so many indispensable and valuable lives (at that point of period) of freedom fighters, armed forces personnel, innocent and noble common men, women and children. All these sacrifices of human lives, well, I thought would yield fruitful, useful and purposeful results to the citizens of our nation to lead and live an economically affordable, environmentally peaceful life without any threat and fear to men, women and children of our nation who had great aspiration and hope in our democratic system of government. But all their aspirations, and hopes are being destroyed as the democratic system and its value started deteriorating cancerously.
What is the democratic system of effectively governing suppose to be:
Government OF THE PEOPLE
BY THE PEOPLE
FOR THE PEOPLE
And now what’s the condition prevailing
It’s Government OFF THE PEOPLE
BUY THE PEOPLE
FAR OFF THE PEOPLE
Indeed and indication of dangerous and alarming situation and needs to be totally eliminated.
If only the rulers (governments) of the post independence days had taken adequate measures and steps to prevent damages being caused to the democratic system of governing, the present state of affairs leading to threat, damages and danger to common people and their whatever belongings would not have taken place.
By and large there had been slackness by the governments ruled the nation in the past few decades and governing presently, did not emphasize and insist much of importance for democratic values thereby ignoring the democratic rights of the common people who were instrumental in putting them in the position of power they had aspired and looked for by exercising their democratic rights of voting in good faith and trust, of leading a
Peaceful and happy living. There are exceptions and this truth cannot be overlooked and denied as we really had some good people responsibly governing the nation during their period but were not supportive by the colleagues in the ministry with unethical vested interests and with out transparency in discharging their dutiful acts.
Many things the common man looks for their mere existence are beyond their reach due to spiraling cost. The cost of living has shot up beyond ones imagination, reach and affordability, this itself is a clear cut evidence, there are flaws and loop holes in our democratic system which needs to be rectified and set right permanently on a war footing. Prices of daily usable commodities for human survival like cereals, pulses, fruits and vegetables etc continues to shoot up without systemized and proper government control over the traders and hoarders as MIGHT IS RIGHT policy squeezing common people to skeleton. Petroleum products, which are the prime source of price increase of all commodities, are highly priced when compared to their actual cost of production in the name and under the pretext of oil pool deficit. If there is an oil pool deficit is it common people responsible for it? Have common man created this deficit? Lack of poor governance proper management and transparent conduct by the government alone is responsible for this and accountable for this, instead of passing on this burden on the common and general public to suffocate and make them suffer. See the funniest part is when the government smells the increase in the crude oil price in the international market; they are super smart in hiking the price immediately and passing on the burden to the common and general public. Similarly when the crude oil price in the international market falls down, all connected in the ministry are keeping mum without taking prompt decision to slash down the prices. I am only citing only one example, many such things happens and goes un-noticed by the people responsible to note and set right things. What a malady of fate common people have been succumbed to? Pharma products, basic health care and hygiene products have already become beyond access to poor people due to its unaffordable price for these sector. Thanks to some of the NGOs and few of the kind hearted private sector hospital administrators who are humble and benevolent enough to offer free treatment, surgery and like facilities in their own limited capacity to the needy and poor ones.
Education in general and higher education in particular and most particularly professional education has become a trading commodity and only rich class can enter into the fray and avail this facility for their children and the common men’s children are forced to laborious employment for their existence instead of continuing education. There are so many problems that exist preventing the growth, well-being and prosperity of poor and common people. Is there any permanent solution to solve all these problems and restore democratic values for the equal benefit and betterment of our citizens without any exception? Why not
Government has to initiate actions and remedial measures on war footing to restore democracy to its real sense and effect for the betterment and benefit of all citizens, instead of letting it go Scot free to the path of peril. Government is expected to adopt and implement stringent measures. By means of new laws, acts and ordinance etc applicable to the whole of nation and any violation of these should be subject to heavy punishments and penalties without any exception whatsoever. The misconception and difference of opinion between judiciary and legislature (a recent development) seems to be on an increase. If only the legislature considers the democratic values in its real and true sense the judiciary would not have interfered with. Let Legislature look after their work leaving the judiciary to manage law and to deal with its offenders.
Scams after scams, enquiry commissions after enquiry commissions to probe into the scams with the net result of public exchequer being drained out without achieving any useful purpose- Corruption and bribe seems to be with no end in spite of having strong and forceful agencies and organizations like CVC, DRI, CBI, Enforcement directorate to control at center level and CBCID, Anti corruption Wing etc. at state level with certain vested interest having power and control (off the records) over this agencies.
The root cause of internal and cross boarder conflict is due to lack of educational facilities and employment opportunities for youth and youngsters in our country. If this is our weakness the neighboring and other countries are exploiting this weakness and adding to their strength.
Let our nation through out have one year just one year of corruption free administration without any criminal offences by people in power and position and then see the difference “ where we reach from where we were now”. You will ever love to retain the refreshed sates of a corruption free nation. Make every citizen without any exception whatsoever to declare their assets, wealth, possessions etc with their sources of income. For this create a foolproof mechanism with the help of our own IITians, IIMs, CA's, Legal experts etc. Implement the mechanism, put it to work and watch the result. Our nation will be placed economically and financially much above USA and European countries and let this be the beginning of our nation’s journey to be No.1 country in the world from all parameters. Let’s all be proud to be” second to none in the world”. Take it seriously and not as a joke –perform it and prove it to the people who have put you on your chair of power and position. Repay them by governing your country in a disciplined, responsible, transparent and ethical manner without any selfish-motive or quench for personal gains, instead have quest to fulfill your duties to your countrymen. Remember ‘YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE AND IF YOU LIVE RIGHT ONCE IS ENOUGH’

The capacity to discriminate is one of the most important functions of intellect. Those who posses this intellect will succeed in life irrespective of their profession. As a matter of fact the success of eminent people in the world depends on their power of discrimination. They are expected to make right and quick decisions. The world is a mixture of good and bad. One should discriminate between them and should take only good. The world is again like a mixture of sand and sugar, take only the sugar leaving the sand behind. Great people achieve tremendous success because they are endowed with the power of discrimination. All our decisions, motives and actions should always be guided by deep thinking and not by mere impulse and emotions and this requires a calm and cool mind which alone can discriminate between good and bad, right and wrong. In Bhagavad-Gita, Lord Krishna has given a wonderful definition on discriminative intellect (ref 18:30): -
“That intellect is pure which discriminates between what is good, and what is bad, adopts what is good, and gives up what is bad, so also, it discriminates between what is duty and what is not duty, the sources of fear and fearlessness, bondage and freedom.”
One should therefore, please understand the fact, that there is constant battle between the mind and the intellect, the mind rebels and does not accept the decision of the intellect and the intellect becomes superior to the mind and the mind refuses to accept the intellect in spite of best of efforts, and instead the mind plays trick intellect by attempting to convince the intellect through seemingly true arguments and unknowingly man falls prey to the tricks of the mind, thereby man get cheated and deceived by his own mind and intellect becomes slave to the dictates of the mind and thereby man looses the power of discrimination . It is of course very difficult to control the mind but not IMPOSSIBLE, through constant efforts of practice and determination. (Here it reminds me of the famous saying by Napoleon- IMPOSSIBLE IS THE WORD FOUND ONLY IN THE DICTIONARY OF FOOLS)
The factors that attribute to delude the intellect and make man lose his power of discrimination are attachment, grief, greed, lust& anger. These factors can be described as robbers, which rob man of his wisdom. Only by cultivating the discriminative intellect man can check and control them.
3. Determinative Intellect: -
Man has to strengthen the determinative faculty of his intellect in order to execute his plans and programmes. Discriminative faculty assists man to take right decision, but it is the role and function of the determinative intellect to put them in practice. Frequent change of moods, decisions and deferring actions reveals lack of determinative intellect. Therefore without firm determination man cannot action and realizes anything positive and fruitful.
4. Subtle Intellect: -
It is the capacity of the intellect, which can easily grasp the subtle truth in a very short span of time. There are too many things in the nature, which man cannot perceive through his senses. In Bagavad Gita Lord Krishna said (ref 18.61): -
“ In the hearts of all beings resides the lord” It means, though the lord is at all times present in our heart and mind and waiting for us with full of love and compassion, ever willing to grant us whatever we seek, unfortunately for man, has no time to respond to his call. Mind you that the Lord is eternally related to you and its man’s right to realize him and only by realizing him
we can swim across the ocean of all hurdles and barriers in life. It is rather a pity that even after knowing about the lord, man fails to realize him due to his crude intellect.
Please remember and retain what Swami Vivekananda had said, “ The study of Vedanta will help to get rid off superstitions and to understand the truth underlying everything, man essentially needs to develop a subtle intellect.”
5. Steady Intellect: -
Is a natural and spontaneous state of mind for a man of realization, as he is aware that nothing in the world can disturb him. Even an ordinary person can get immense benefit by cultivating a steady intellect. Intellectual conviction of reality will help a man to develop a steady intellect to some extend. Please refer to Bhagavad-Gita (2.70) to prove this, Lord Krishna has given a beautiful illustration on this.
“Water enters into the sea from all the directions, but the sea remains full and unchanged. It means, those who are devoted to God can easily withstand the shocks of life, happiness and misery, Victory & defeat (success & failure), gain & loss, praise & blame, attachment & hatred, honour & dishonour, heat & cold.”
Please do consider everything as WILL OF GOD and have firm belief that whatever happens is only for the good. Lord has further explained the state of steady intellect in Bagavad Gita (ref 2.56) as: -
“ He whose mind is not troubled in sorrow as it is bound to take place in every ones life), who does not hanker after pleasure and is totally free from attachment (devoid of his duties), fear and hatred is called a man of steady intellect”.
6. Mature Intellect: -
Nature takes care of physical maturity. However, to develop intellectual maturity, one has to work tirelessly, and nature cannot do much on this. Deep thinking, responsibility and sincerity are very essential to develop mature intellect. Our thoughts, words and actions should originate out of deep thinking .Any signs of impulsive, silly and controversial statements made by any person, in particular a person holding responsible position, is a clear indication of immature intellect. A matured person should ever be ready and willing to take up responsibility as they will be respected and honoured at all time, as long as they hold this responsibility. Therefore be aware of ones responsibility towards FAMILY, Society and Nation.
A sincere person never commits anything wrong intentionally, even if such a person commits a mistake out of ignorance it should be considered as an error and not as a mistake. If a person is sincere enough about his purpose, he will be able to develop mature intellect and people will have faith in his words and deeds.
7. Vast Intellect: -
Is a kind of intellect, which transcends narrow, mean and selfish ideas and motives. Man must let go his individuality and identify himself with the whole existence and he will be known as a man of Vast Intellect. Lord Krishna through Bagavd Gita (ref 6.32) shows us how to develop vast intellect and it is: -
“He who judges pleasure and pain every where by the same standard as it applies to himself is the man of HIGHEST ORDER, and it is known that Unity underlies the diversity- Man should identify himself with others and take part in their joys & sorrows, understand the sufferings and miseries of others and be kind and compassions towards them. The only and right way to, develop Vast Intellect.
8. Simple Intellect: -
A man of simple intellect is one who possesses child-like qualities. Simplicity, straightforwardness, truthfulness, innocence, unstinted faith apart is also free from ego, suspicion, hypocrisy and calculative mind. Such a person does not hide anything. Their thoughts, words and deeds are always in conformity with one another. They are outspoken, talk candidly without any reservations even if others misunderstand. They are non-prejudiced by nature as prejudiced mind is the root cause of suspicions.
9. Sharp Intellect: -
Main characteristics of sharp intellect are presence of mind, right understanding, sharp memory, ability to find solutions to problems of different kind and nature. This should be developed from young age. A person with sharp intellect can impress and convince any intelligent person. Sharp memory is one of the signs of sharp intellect. Spent leisure time with genius and intelligent persons discussing with them matters of interests and your work experience at work place or something useful and worthy while to increase your wisdom. Never indulge in Gossip with -be it anybody, as it will create an opaque in development of sharp intellect.
There is an appropriate verse in Lord Krishna’s Bagavad Gita (ref 2.63) means: -
“From loss of memory comes the destruction of intelligence and from the destruction of intelligence man annihilates.” Do not ever allow this to happen in your life. Implement this “A” principle in your living i.e. BE ACTIVE, ALIVE and ALERT.
In the midst of your work and other related activities please do remember God and surrender the fruits of your action to him. Be a wise man endowed with sharp intellect and please do remember God while performing your duties.
10. Positive Intellect: -
Only with positive thought and attitude one can achieve success in life. Faith in self and God, courage, strength, and fearlessness are the characteristics of positive intellect. For a man of intense faith nothing is impossible in this world. Never harbour negative thoughts as it can cause tremendous damage to ones personality. What makes the difference between man and man is the difference in the concentration. What makes one man great and another man weak and low is also the same concentration. Allow positive, strong and, helpful thoughts enter into brain from the young age itself. All powers are within you, you can do anything and every thing-believe in this firmly and do not believe that you are weak instead, stand up and express the divinity, strength and force with in you.
Strong faith in the ideal, right understanding, concentration and self-confidence only will lead to success. Have thirst for knowledge; knowledge only can remove ignorance and guide to intellectual growth and wisdom. Those who are able to cultivate all the above aspects of intellect will face only success in all walks of their life. Be A COMPLETE MAN WITH PERFECTION AND HARMONY.

When our intellect is clean and pure, the divine manifests with in us, when divine manifests within us our thoughts will be divine and pure and will get only clean & divine orders to execute from the manifestation within us, under all circumstances and from all directions.
Now let us in brief analyze the varieties of Intellects one by one: -
1. Alert Intellect: -
It is always better to avoid dangers rather than facing them, to conform with the good old saying PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE. This is obviously possible only when we are alert. As Swami Vivekananda had said “ Arise, Awake and stop not till the goal is achieved.
Carelessness leads to repentance and at times it very badly affects ones life and to avoid such a situation cropping up, one must cultivate Alert Intellect. Contemplation on Aadi Sankara’s words will help a person to develop Alert Intellect: -
“The mind is like a tiger roaming in the forest of sense objects. Those who have a
longing for liberation should remain very alert, not to go there.”
