A Story of Appreciation .....& 3 indispensable Values......Pl read Till the END
One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial
position in a big company. He passed the first interview; the director did the last interview, made the last decision.
The director discovered from the CV, that the youth's academic result is
excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate
research, never was a year he did not score.
The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarship in school?" and the
youth answered "none".
The director asked, " Is it your father who paid for your school fees?" the
youth answered, my father passed away when I was one year old, it is my
mother who paid for my school fees.
The director asked, " Where did your mother work?" the youth answered, my
mother worked as a cloth cleaner. The director requested the youth to show
his hand, the youth showed a pair of hand that were smooth and perfect to
the director.
The director asked, " Did you ever help your mother wash the clothes
before?" The youth answered, never, my mother always wanted me to study and
read more books, furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.The
director said, I have a request, when you go back today, go and help to
clean your mother's hand, and then see me tomorrow morning.
The youth felt that as the chance of landing the job is high, when he went
back, he happily wanted to clean his mother's hand, his mother felt strange, happy but mixed with fear, she showed her hands to the kid.
The youth cleaned his mother's hand slowly, his tears dropped down as he did that. It is the first time he found his mother's hands so wrinkled, and there are so many bruises in her hand. Some bruises incite pains so strong that shiver his mother's body when cleaned with water.
This is the first time the youth realized and experienced that it is this
pair of hand that washed the cloth everyday to earn him the school fees, the bruises in the mother's hand is the price that the mother paid for his
graduation and academic excellence and probably his future.
After finishing the cleaning of his mother hand, the youth quietly cleaned
all remaining clothes for his mother. That night, mother and son talked for
a very long time.
Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.
The director noticed the tear in the youth's eye, asked: “Can you tell what
have you done and learned yesterday in your house?"
The youth answered, " I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'
The director asked, “please tell me your feeling."
The youth said :
Number 1, I knew what is appreciation, without my mother, there would not
the successful me today.
Number 2, I knew how to work together with my mother, then only I can
realize how difficult and tough to get something done.
Number 3, I knew the importance and value of family relationship.
The director said, " This is what I am asking, I want to recruit a person
that can appreciate the help of other, a person that knew the suffering of
others to get thing done, and a person that would not put money as his only
goal in life to be my manager. You are hired.
Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of
his subordinates, every employees worked diligently and in a team, the
company's result improved tremendously.
A child who had been protected and habitually given whatever he did, he
developed "entitlement mentality" and always put himself first. He is
ignorant of his parent's effort. When he started work, he assumed every
people must listen to him, and when he became a manager, he would never know how suffering his employee and always blame others. For this kind of
people, he can have good result, may be successful for a while, but
eventually would not feel sense of achievement, he will grumble and full of
hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parent, did we
love the kid or destroy the kid?
You can let your kid live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano,
watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them
experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plate and bowl together
with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to
hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way. You
want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow grey, same as the mother of that young person.
The most important thing is your kid learn how to appreciate the effort and
experience the difficulty and learn the ability to work with others to get
things done..............................................
"Whay you sow, so you reap...................So, sow the finer seeds of family relationship that touches the finer sentiments of heart and mind to reap finest results.
"Never take some one for granted, hold every person close to your heart and in esteem, because you might wake up one day and realise that you have lost a Diamond, while you were busy collecting stones." "Always be the reason for some one's happiness and never just be a part of it. Always be a part of some one's sadness, But never be the reason for it."

Richest man in the Valley.....................
Richest Man In The Valley ............................
A rich landowner named Carl often rode around his vast estate so he could congratulate himself on his great wealth.
One day while riding around his estate on his favorite horse, he saw Hans, an old tenant farmer. Hans was sitting under a tree when Carl rode by.
Hans said, 'I was just thanking God for my food.'
Carl protested, 'If that is all I had to eat, I wouldn't feel like giving thanks.'
Hans replied, 'God has given me everything I need, and I am thankful for it.'
The old farmer added, 'It is strange you should come by today because I had a dream last night. In my dream a voice told me, 'The richest man in the valley will die tonight.' I don't know what it means, but I thought I ought to tell you.'
Carl snorted, 'Dreams are nonsense,' and galloped away, but he could not forget Hans' words: 'The richest man in the valley will die tonight.'
He was obviously the richest man in the valley, so he invited his doctor to his house that evening.
Carl told the doctor what Hans had said. After a thorough examination, the doctor told the wealthy landowner, 'Carl, you are as strong and healthy as a horse. There is no way you are going to die tonight.'
Nevertheless, for assurance, the doctor stayed with Carl, and they played cards through the night.
The doctor left the next morning and Carl apologized for becoming so upset over the old man's dream.
At about nine o'clock, a messenger arrived at Carl's door.
'What is it?' Carl demanded................
The messenger explained, 'It's about old Hans. He died last night in his sleep.'
Being rich has nothing to do with money or possessions. But it has everything to do with having a relationship with God.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.'

If you want your dreams to come true, you mustn't oversleep.
The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.
The heaviest thing you can carry is a grudge.
One thing you can give and still keep...is your word.
You lie the loudest when you lie to yourself
If you lack the courage to start, you have already finished.

Your mind is like a parachute... .it functions only when open..
The 10 commandments are not a multiple choice.
The pursuit of happiness is the chase of a lifetime! It is never too late to become what you might have been.
Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right.. Forget about the one's who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.
Friends are like balloons; once you let them go, you might not get them back. Sometimes we get so busy with our own lives and problems that we may not even notice that we've let them fly away. Sometimes we are so caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we forget what's right and wrong. Sometimes we just don't realize what real friendship means until it is too late.Don't let that happen to you so tie yourself to your friend's heart so that you never lose.

Ten Priciples for.......................................
Ten Principles for Peace of Mind......
1. Do Not Interfere In Others' Business Unless Asked.
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God.. God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way. Mind your own business and you will keep your peace.
2. Forgive And Forget:
This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often develop ill feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us. We nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep, development of stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by constantly remembering it. Get over this bad habit. Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forgive,20Forget, and march on. Love flourishes in giving and forgiving.
3. Do Not Crave For Recognition:
This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in power, but no sooner than you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and will start finding faults in you. Why do you wish to kill yours lf in striving for their recognition? Their recognition is not worth the aggravation. Do your duties ethically and sincerely.
4. Do Not Be Jealous:
We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but sometimes they get promotions; you do not. You started a business several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old. There are several examples like these in everyday life. Should you be jealous? No. Remember everybody's life is shaped by his/her destiny, which has now become his/her reality. If you are destined to be rich, nothing in the world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere; it will only take away your peace of mind.
5. Change Yourself According To The Environment:
If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the chances are you will fail. Instead, change yourself to suit your environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has been unfriendly to you, will mysteriously change and seem congenial and harmonious.
6. Endure What Cannot Be Cured:
This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control... If we cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully. Believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience, inner strength and will power.
7. Do Not Bite More Than You Can Chew:
This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. . Why take on additional loads that may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by expanding your external activities. Reduce your material engagements and spend time in prayer, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless. Uncluttered mind will produce greater peace of mind.
8.Meditate Regularly:
Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it yourself. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend to become peaceful during the remaining twenty-three and half-hours. Your mind will not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually increasing the period of daily meditation. You may think that this will interfere with your daily work. On the contrary, this will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce better results in less time.
9. Never Leave The Mind Vacant:
An idle mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in the vacant mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile . Actively follow a hobby. Do something that holds your interest. You must decide what you value more: money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social work or religious work, may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name.
10. Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret:
Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or shouldn't I?" Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Value your time and do the things that need to be done. It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes, but do not brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET. Whatever happened was destined to happen only that way. Why cry over spilt milk?..............................

You only Live once.........Live Right & Righteous.
Rules for a better way to live and work......................
Rule One ...
Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you ... with grace, strength, courage, and confidence.
Rule Two ...
Today, and every day, deliver more than you are getting paid to do. The victory of success will be half won when you learn the secret of putting out more than is expected in all that you do. Make yourself so valuable in your work that eventually you will become indispensable. Exercise your privilege to go the extra mile, and enjoy all the rewards you receive. You deserve them!
Rule Three.......
Whenever you make a mistake or get knocked down by life, don't look back at it too long. Mistakes are life's way of teaching you. Your capacity for occasional blunders is inseparable from your capacity to reach your goals. No one wins them all, and your failures, when they happen, are just part of your growth. Shake off your blunders. How will you know your limits without an occasional failure? Never quit. Your turn will come.
Rule Four ...
Always reward your long hours of labour and toil in the very best way, surrounded by your family. Nurture their love carefully, remembering that your children need models, not critics, and your own progress will hasten when you constantly strive to present your best side to your children. And even if you have failed at all else in the eyes of the world, if you have a loving family, you are a success.
Rule Five ...
Build this day on a foundation of pleasant thoughts. Never fret at any imperfections that you fear may impede your progress. Remind yourself, as often as necessary, that you are a creation of God and have the power to achieve any dream by lifting up your thoughts. You can fly when you decide that you can. Never consider yourself defeat again. Let the vision in your heart be in your life's blueprint. Smile!
Rule Six ...
Let your actions always speak for you, but be forever on guard against the terrible traps of false pride and conceit that can halt your progress. The next time you are tempted to boast, just place your fist in a full pail of water, and when you remove it, the hole remaining will give you a correct measure of your importance.
Rule Seven ...
Each day is a special gift from God, and while life may not always be fair, you must never allow the pains, hurdles, and handicaps of the moment to poison your attitude and plans for yourself and your future. You can never win when you wear the ugly cloak of self-pity, and the sour sound of whining will certainly frighten away any opportunity for success. Never again. There is a better way.
Rule Eight ...
Never again clutter your days or nights with so many menial and unimportant things that you have no time to accept a real challenge when it comes along. This applies to play as well as work. A day merely survived is no cause for celebration. You are not here to fritter away your precious hours when you have the ability to accomplish so much by making a slight change in your routine. No more busy work. No more hiding from success. Leave time, leave space, to grow. Now. Now! Not tomorrow!
Rule Nine ...
Live this day as if it will be your last. Remember that you will only find 'tomorrow' on the calendars of fools. Forget yesterday's defeats and ignore the problems of tomorrow. This is it. Doomsday. All you have. Make it the best day of your year. The saddest words you can ever utter are, 'If I had my life to live over again...' Take the baton, now. Run with it! This is your day!
Rule Ten ...
Beginning today, treat everyone you meet, friend or foe, loved one or stranger, as if they were going to be dead at midnight. Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care and kindness and understanding and love that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.
Rule Eleven ...
Laugh at yourself and at life. Not in the spirit of derision or whining self-pity, but as a remedy, a miracle drug, that will ease your pain, cure your depression, and help you to put in perspective that seemingly terrible defeat and worry with laughter at your predicaments, thus freeing your mind to think clearly toward the solution that is certain to come. Never take yourself too seriously.
Rule Twelve ...
Never neglect the little things. Never skimp on that extra effort, that additional few minutes, that soft word of praise or thanks, that delivery of the very best that you can do. It does not matter what others think, it is of prime importance, however, what you think about you. You can never do your best, which should always be your trademark, if you are cutting corners and shirking responsibilities. You are special. Act it. Never neglect the little things.
Rule Thirteen ...
Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self- starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don't waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.
Rule Fourteen ...
You will achieve grand dream, a day at a time, so set goals for each day - not long and difficult projects, but chores that will take you, step by step, toward your rainbow. Write them down, if you must, but limit your list so that you won't have to drag today's undone matters into tomorrow. Remember that you cannot build your pyramid in twenty-four hours. Be patient. Never allow your day to become so cluttered that you neglect your most important goal - to do the best you can, enjoy this day, and rest satisfied with what you have accomplished.
Rule Fifteen ...
Never allow anyone to rain on your parade and thus cast a pall of gloom and defeat on the entire day. Remember that no talent, no self-denial, no brains, no character, are required to set up in the fault-finding business. Nothing external can have any power over you unless you permit it. Your time is too precious to be sacrificed in wasted days combating the menial forces of hate, jealously, and envy. Guard your fragile life carefully. Only God can shape a flower, but any foolish child can pull it to pieces.
Rule Sixteen ...
Search for the seed of good in every adversity. Master that principle and you will own a precious shield that will guard you well through all the darkest valley you must traverse. Stars may be seen from the bottom of a deep well, when they cannot be discerned from the mountaintop. So will you learn things in adversity that you would never have discovered without trouble. There is always a seed of good. Find it and prosper.
Rule Seventeen ...
Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach.........................................And Remember...............
"You only live once...................and if you live right and righrteous once is enough."
Rule One ...
Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you ... with grace, strength, courage, and confidence.

Why God uses problems in our lives?...........
Reasons, As To Why God Uses Problems .........In our Lives.......................
The problems that you face, will either defeat you or develop you, depending on how, you respond to them. Unfortunately, most people fail to see, as to how God wants to use problems, for good causes, in their respective lives. They react foolishly, and resent their problems, rather than pausing to consider, as to what benefits, they might bring.
Here are ways, that God wants to use the problems, in your life:-
God Uses Problems, To DIRECT You..................................
Sometimes, God must light a fire under you, to get you moving. Problems often point us, in new directions, and motivate us, to change. Is God trying, to get your attention? Sometimes it takes a painful situation, to make us change, our ways.
2.God Uses Problems, To INSPECT You ..............................
People,(assume) are like tea bags. If you want to know, as to what is inside them, just drop them, into hot water! Has God tested your faith, with a problem? What do problems reveal, about you? When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy; because you know that these troubles, test your faith; and this will give you, patience."
3.God Uses Problems, To CORRECT You ..................................
Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something... health, money, a relationship by losing it. "It was the best thing that could have happened to any one, for it taught them to pay attention to nature's laws."
4. God Uses Problems To PROTECT YOU...........................
A problem can be, a blessing in disguise, if it prevents one from being harmed, by something more serious. Last year, a friend of mine
One was fired from his job, only for having refused to do, something unethical, that his boss had asked him, to do. That friend's unemployment,
was a problem, but that itself saved him, from being convicted and sent to prison, a year later; when the actions of the Management of his previous office, were eventually discovered...................
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good..."
5. God Uses Problems, To PERFECT You
Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders.God, is far more interested in your character, than in your comfort. Your relationship with God, and your character, are the only two things that you are going to take with you, into eternity.
"We can rejoice, when we run into problems. They help us learn, to be patient. Patience, develops strength of character, in us; and helps us trust God more, each time that we use it, until finally our hope and faith, are strong steady and unstinted.."
God, is always at work in your life, even when you do not realise it, or understand it. But it is much easier and more benefitable, when you co-operate, with Him.
"Success can be measured, not only in achievements, but in lessons learned, lives touched, and moments shared, along the way".................
You pass by daily.......................And remember......................
"Life is a Gift from the God and enjoy the gift in his directed way."

Any thing is possible.........................
I believe anything is possible if you
believe in yourself, and work hard
enough to achieve your dreams.
You just have to have faith in
what you can achieve, don't be afraid
to ask for help and advice from
others to help you achieve it.
And never give up, no matter how many times, you get knock down
or take a wrong turn.

If there was ever a time to dare, to make a difference,
To embark on something worth doing, IT IS HERE & NOW.
Not for any grand cause, necessarily... But for something that tugs at your heart,Something that's your inspiration, something that's your dream.
You owe it to yourself, to make your days here count.
Don't stop yourself from doing a deed just cause it's small or
only cause just one or few individuals will benefit from it.
Just remember, no matter how small the deed; it really does makes a difference.

Work & Worship..........................
WORK AND WORSHIP:..................................
The Master discovered that often his disciples failed to grasp fully what he tried to convey to them. So he spoke his mind to a senior aspirant.
"I grieve to find that many a time my own students fail to
catch my meaning. When I urge them to dedicate their very
lives to the cause of selfless service, I in no way mean
that they should neglect their personal Sadhana in the name
of work. Sadhana has to be done systematically during a
specified period daily, both in the early morning and in the
evening. Such kind of spiritual routine is not at all
incompatible with active work during the rest of the day.
The point I stress is that even the work should become
spiritual Sadhana by the adoption of the feeling that one is
only an instrument in the hands of the Lord and that all
work is an offering unto Him. Then the entire daily activity
will form worship.
"The life of aspirants who adopt this attitude will brighten
up into an effulgent light offered daily to the Lord
manifest as the created universe. How many devoted and pious
householders are even now diligently practising systematic
Sadhana together with their social duties! If you rational
youth do not see the logic and psychology of the powerful
influence that one's mental attitude and suggestion exert on
all actions, how then do you expect the masses and the
laymen to understand the theory or philosophy of Karma Yoga?
Abandon all queer, preconceived notions of what Sadhana is
and what it is not. All selfless activity that is done with
reverence constitutes highest Sadhana. If you practise doing
all work in the spirit of worship, there cannot be any
feeling of despondency at all."
"Right from the very beginning of one's spiritual life, one
must understand clearly that in true 'humanity'--sincere
desire to root out gradually pride, egoism and jealousy,
earnest and unceasing introspection to find out one's own
defects and improve oneself lies one's hope of progress.
Without this basis, any form of Sadhana becomes a delusion
and a waste. It makes the aspirant puffed up, more proud and
egoistic. When this happens, all good advice and
instructions fall flat upon him. Higher influences cease to
have any effect as the aspirant becomes deliberately and
obstinately non-receptive to them. Eternal vigilance should
be exercised if he is to avoid falling into this dangerous
state. Spiritual life is not a light matter."

Then Right way of Living is....................................
The Right Way of Living is the Righeteous way of Living.....................
What Is Dharma? The Right Way Of Living is the Righeteous Way of Living..... What Are Its Forms?
Dharma is the law of being, the orderly fulfillment of an inherent nature and destiny. Dharma is of four main divisions, which are God's law at work on four levels of our existence: universal, human, social and personal.
When God created the universe, He endowed it with order, with the laws to govern creation. Dharma is God's divine law prevailing on every level of existence, from the sustaining cosmic order to religious and moral laws which bind us in harmony with that order. We are maintained by dharma, held in our most perfect relationship within a complex universe. Every form of life, every group of men, has its dharma, the law of its being. When we follow dharma, we are in conformity with the Truth that inheres and instructs the universe, and we naturally abide in closeness to God. Adharma is opposition to divine law. Dharma prevails in the laws of nature and is expressed in our culture and heritage. It is piety and ethical practice, duty and obligation. It is the path which leads us to liberation. Universal dharma is known as rita. Social dharma is varna dharma. Human dharma is known as ashrama dharma. Our personal dharma is svadharma. Hinduism, the purest
expression of these four timeless dharmas, is called Sanatana Dharma.
The Vedas proclaim, "There is nothing higher than dharma. Verily, that which is dharma is Truth."

Values of Self Effort........................
Value of Self Effort..................
It is not easy to describe spirituality and all definitions of the term concur on the fact that it is the converse of all that is material, temporal or worldly. The body would remain insentient but for the animating force of the spirit within. This is a sign of the spiritual component in us. Just as the effect of human effort is manifest in the development of the human race, self effort plays a very important role in enhancing the spiritual life of an individual, pointed out Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha in a lecture.
The uniqueness of human beings is their ability to think, reflect and act and only when these special faculties are realised to their full potential does human existence become meaningful. Human birth is a great opportunity to realise the spiritual quotient within and this is possible with proper guidance from a knowledgeable preceptor and steadfast endeavour on the part of the seeker.
In the Bhagavad Gita Lord Krishna as a preceptor puts things in proper perspective to a confused Arjuna who suddenly swerved from his prime desire to wage a war on seeing his grandfather, preceptor and relatives on the enemy camp, and began to question the propriety of the issue. The Lord makes Arjuna understand the value of self effort, and explains the higher truths of the scriptures in clear and simple terms. Lord Krishna reinforces the truth of the Atma — which is shown as the immortal and undying component residing in each individual endowed with a physical form and nature.
The knower of this truth understands the spiritual aspect in oneself and of the perishable nature of all else including one's body-mind-complex. The advice is for all mankind as well, to generate the required
self effort to transcend the doubts and confusions of worldly pulls and aspire for the eternal goal of life. Human beings have the strength to lift themselves to direct their lives in the right path. Intelligence, sensory organs and the mind should work as an integrated whole.
In the Yoga Vasishta, Sage Vasishta advises a disturbed young Lord Rama on the value of Paurusha (self effort) and to cultivate it through
perseverance, endurance and ingenuity.

Life after Death..............................
Needs utmost attention and concentration while reading, keeping in mind the topic.
Source: "Life after Death by Swami Vivekananda
IS THE SOUL IMMORTAL? ????
In the famous and great Sanskrit epic “MAHABHARATA”,
the story goes like this, Dharma asked Yudishthira to
tell what was the wonderful thing in the world? The
reply came that it was the persistent belief of
mankind in their own deathlessness in spite of their
witnessing death everywhere around them almost every,
moment of their lives. This is the most stupendous
wonder in human life. In spite of all the arguments to
the contrary urged in different times by different
schools of thought, in spite of the inability of
reason to penetrate the veil of mystery which will
ever hang between the sensuous and the super sensuous
world, man is thoroughly persuaded that he cannot die.
We may study all our lives and in the end fail to
bring the problem of life and death to the plane of
rational demonstration, affirmative or negative. We
may talk, write, preach or teach for or against the
permanency or impermanency of human existence as much
as we may like, may become violent or partisans of
this side or that, may lull ourselves into a momentary
rest under the delusion of having solved the problem
once for all, may cling ourselves with all our powers
to curious religious superstitions –but in the end we
find ourselves playing an eternal game in the bowling
alley of reason and rising intellectual pin after pin
only to be knocked over again and again. Behind all
these mental strain and stress, not infrequently
productive of more dangerous results than mere games,
stands a fact unchallenged or unchallengeable, the
fact, the wonder, which the epic points out as the
inability of our mind to conceive our own
annihilation.
Now before trying to understand what this curious
phenomenon means, it is better to note that upon this
one fact the whole world stands. The permanence of the
external world is inevitably joined to the permanence
of the internal and however plausible any theory of
the universe may seem which asserts the permanence of
the one and denies that of the other, the theorist
himself will find that in his own mechanism not one
conscious action is possible, without the permanence
of both internal and external worlds being one of the
factors in the motive cause. Although it is true that
when the human mind transcends its own limitations, it
finds duality reduced to an indivisible unity, on this
side of the unconditioned, the whole objective
world-that is to say, the world we know, is and can be
alone known to us as existing for the object and
therefore we would be able to conceive the
annihilation of the subject we are bound to conceive
the annihilation of the object so far it is plain
enough. But now comes the difficulty. I cannot think
of myself ordinarily as anything else but a physical
body. My idea of my own permanence includes my idea of
myself as a body, but the body is obviously
impermanent, as is the whole of nature a constantly
vanishing one. Where, then, is this permanence ?
There is one more wonderful phenomenon connected with
our lives, without which who will be able to live? Who
will be able to enjoy life a moment?-the idea of
freedom. This is the idea that guides each footstep of
ours and makes our movement possible, determines our
relations to each other-nay, is the very warp and woof
in the fabric of human life.
Intellectual knowledge tries to drive it inch by
inch from its territory, post after post is snatched
away from its domain and each step is made fast and
iron bound with the rail-readings of CAUSE AND
EFFECT.But it laughs at all our attempts and keep
itself above all these massive pile of law and
causation with which we tried to smother it to death!
How can it be otherwise?.The limited always requires
a higher generalisation of the unlimited to explain
itself. The bound can only explained by the free, the
caused by the uncaused. But again the same
uncaused, again the same difficulty exist. What is
free? The body or the mind ?It is apparent to all that
they are as much bound by law as any thing else in
the universe. The problem resolves itself into this
dilemma:- i.e either the whole universe is a mass of
never ceasing change and nothing more, irrevocably
bound by the law of causation, not one particle having
a unity of itself, yet is curiously producing an
ineradicable delusion of permanence and freedom or,
there is in us and in the universe something which
is permanent and free, showing that the basal
constitutional belief of the human mind is not a
delusion.
Now it is the duty of the science to explain facts by
bringing them to a higher generalisation.Any
explanation , that first want to destroy a part of the
fact given to be explained in order to fit itself to
the remainder , is not scientific, whatever else it
may be. Therefore , any explanation that wants to over
look the fact of this persistent and all necessary
idea of freedom, commits the above mentioned mistake
of denying a portion of the fact , in order to
explain the rest is therefore wrong.
The only other alternative possible then is to
acknowledge, in harmony with our nature , that there
is something in us which is free and permanent. But
it is not the Body or the mind, as the body is dying
every minute and the mind is constantly changing .The
body is a combination and so is the mind and as such
can never reach to a state beyond all change. But
beyond this momentary sheathing of gross matter ,
beyond even the finer covering of the mind is the
"Atman", the true self of man, the permanent and ever
free.
It is this freedom that his freedom percolating
through layers of thought and matter, is ever
asserting its unshackled existence, it is His
deathlessness, His bliss, His peace, His divinity that
shines out and makes itself felt in spite of the
thickest layers of ignorance. He is the real man, the
fearless one, the deathless one and he is free.
Therefore freedom is possible only when no external
power can exert any influence and produce any change.
Freedom is only possible to the being who is beyond
all conditions, all laws, all bondages of cause and
effect. In other words the unchangeable alone can be
free and immortal. This being the truth, this "Atman",
this real self of man, the free, the unchangeable, is
beyond all conditions and as such it has "neither
birth nor death". Without birth or death, eternal ever
existing is the "SOUL OF MAN"
The answer to the ? Is soul immortal? has now been
explained.

finds duality reduced to an indivisible unity, on this
side of the unconditioned, the whole objective
world-that is to say, the world we know, is and can be
alone known to us as existing for the object and
therefore we would be able to conceive the
annihilation of the subject we are bound to conceive
the annihilation of the object so far it is plain
Is soul immortal? has now been
explained.
Equal Vision.....................................
Equal Vision..............................
Think of our own brain. If you don't use it properly for its functions of knowing, analyzing and discovering, it will lose its present value and importance.
So accept life and the world, the senses and their role, the mind and its full dimensions, in toto. Regard them all as the best and the most beneficial `instruments' for use. Utilize each in its sphere effectively, and achieve the much desired Universality. That is the golden path for fulfillment.
Do not be lethargic in leaving the customary delusions, sectarian outlooks. Install, in their place, the grand vision of evenness, oneness. Oneness is a practice for the mind, to allay and outlive its divisional, extremist standpoints. There is no oneness in the world outside.
Elementally, physically, chemically, biologically, the whole existence is plural. It has been and has to be so. But in the `source' level, the `substance' level, everything in the universe is One! So psychologically, we should not foster plurality. Let the mind and intelligence be given to equal-vision. Enjoy the beauty, grace and elixir this `vision' generates and be promoted and fulfilled in this very life.

The Courage to Change............................
The Courage To Change ........................
It's up to the individual to stand on his own two feet, take his life in his own hands, his karmas in his own hands, to bear his karma cheerfully and work with it. Nobody else can do that for you. Gurus and swamis can point the way and give certain guide lines and sadhanas, but they cannot do it for you. Even If they did do it for you, it wouldn't do you any good!
People who are cynical are expressing their anger and contempt with snide remarks. They may seem to be joking, but their sharp feelings come across anyway, which stimulates that lower chakra until one day their cynicism will turn into really good anger. Then they build up new karmas they never had before, which they will live with until they are faced with those karmas.
Some devotees take pride in saying, "I've been with Gurudeva for forty-five years." "I've been with Gurudeva for thirty years." But if you ask them, "Do you still get angry?" "Yes," they say. "What have
you realized?" "Well, that I shouldn't get angry." "Do you still get angry?" "Uh-huh, yes, sometimes." Those people haven't been with Gurudeva at all!
They've just been hanging around. Because the results of everything we have been teaching have not taken hold. Results have to manifest in the lives of each of you. Otherwise, you're just bodies, sitting there listening to the talk, living your own private life, living a double standard. Just bodies. So, there can be a lack of sincerity.
You can't work at correcting something. You either do it or you don't do it. You don't work at not falling off a cliff, a big precipice that drops off a hundred feet. You just don't step forward; that's what you don't do! When you come to the point where you hear about the Self, and you get interested in the Self, you're at a point where you can break the cycle of certain karmas through sadhana. You're either going to do it or you're going to think, "Oh, that's kind of silly, you know. It's really nice to listen to Gurudeva, but to actually take these teachings seriously and make changes in ones life, well. That kind of attitude, that kind of , lazy attitude, also results in making new karmas, because others look at you as an example and take up your example. It's living a double life that I am talking about. It depends on the strength of the person's soul whether he actually makes some definite changes in his character or not.

A Carrot.....An Egg & A Cup of Coffee.................
A Carrot, an Egg and a cup of Coffee...................................
You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.
Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?"
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft.
The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The
daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently.
The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.
The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.
The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?"
Think of this: Which am I?
Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes
with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a
breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.
When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of
everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

Thoughts on Human Mind...........................
Swami Vivekananda.......Thoughts on Human Mind.........
How hard it is to control the mind! Well has it been compared to the maddened monkey? There was a monkey, restless by his own nature, as all monkeys are. As if that were not enough, someone made him drink freely of wine, so that he became still more restless. Then a scorpion stung him. When a man is stung by a scorpion, he jumps about for a whole day; so the poor monkey found his condition worse than ever. To complete his misery a demon entered into him.
What language can describe the uncontrollable restlessness of that monkey?
The human mind is like that monkey, incessantly active by its own nature; then it becomes drunk with the wine of desire, thus increasing its turbulence. After desire takes possession, comes the sting of the scorpion of jealousy at the success of others, and last of all the demon of pride enters the mind, making it think itself of all importance. How hard to control such a mind!

Be Willing to.................................
Be Willing to..........................
Be willing to learn, and a teacher will appear.
Be willing to work, and numerous opportunities
For making a valuable, positive difference
Will come your way.
Your willingness is a key that unlocks life's abundance.
Your willingness helps opens your eyes to,
And prepares you for whatever you are willing to be or to do.
Your willingness is not merely what you say it is.
True willingness resides in the deepest part of who you are.
Be willing, and you will gain access to
Whatever you need to get the job done.
Be willing, and you will find a way.
Many things seem out of reach only
Because you imagine them to be.
Have the courage to be sincerely willing,
And the impossible can become real.
Be willing to make a difference in each moment,
And your world will overflow with possibilities.
Be willing to experience a life of richness and fulfillment,
And that is precisely how it will unfold.

Rises of The Heart...............................
We have heard it said that from the time an infant first struggles to
Get his/her toes into her mouth, life is a continual struggle to make both
Ends meet. Those who are working one or more jobs and feel as if they
are barely getting by can relate.
But also know that the pursuit of money, as an end in itself, is an
Empty endeavor. Happy are those who seek riches which cannot be
Counted in a bank or measured on a scale. For they will never know
Real poverty.
Writer Rudyard Kipling got it right when he admonished Students at McGill University to never waste their time fighting for Money. He said that some day they will meet someone who cares little For money and will not take it, even if offered. At that time, they Will discover how poor they really are!
Yet how very wealthy are those who seek riches of the heart. They will
Always have more than enough of all that brings true happiness............
"We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give"...........and be kind hearted enough to give and grow................
And remember the truth..................................................
"Very rarely all members of the same family live under the same roof for
reasons of "MONEY & MATRIMONY"................and work hard to avoid such scenario as one day every one has to quit both this before bidding "BYE to the Earth & Sky & Sun, Moon & stars."

How to remember parents and in what way to help them.Very important incident narrated here.............
"Matrudevo Bhava / Pitrudevo bhava "....................... Please read and forward to other elderly people and their children.
This incident was narrated by an IAF pilot at a Seminar recently on Human Relations. Venkatesh Balasubramaniam (who works for IIT) describes how his gesture of booking an air ticket for his father, his maiden flight, brought forth a rush of emotions and made him (Venkatesh) realize that how much we all take for granted when it comes to our parents.
My parents left for our native place on Thursday and we went to the airport to see them off. In fact, my father had never travelled by air before, so I just took this opportunity to make him experience the same. In spite of being asked to book tickets by train, I got them tickets on Jet Airways.
The moment I handed over the tickets to him, he was surprised to see that I had booked them by air. The excitement was very apparent on his face, waiting for the time of travel. Just like a school boy, he was preparing himself on that day and we all went to the airport, right from using the trolley for his luggage, the baggage check-in and asking for a window seat and waiting restlessly for the security check-in to happen. He was thoroughly enjoying himself and I, too, was overcome with joy watching him experience all these things.
As they were about to go in for the security check-in, he walked up to me with tears in his eyes and thanked me. He became very emotional and it was not as if I had done something great but the fact that this meant a great deal to him. When he said thanks, I told him there was no need to thank me. But later, thinking about the entire incident, I looked back at my life. As a child, how many dreams our parents have made come
true. Without understanding the financial situation, we ask for cricket bats, dresses, toys, outings, etc. Irrespective of their affordability, they have catered to all our needs.
Did we ever think about the sacrifices they had to make to accommodate many of our wishes? Did we ever say thanks for all that they have done for us? Same way, today when it comes to our children, we always think that we should put them in a good school. Regardless of the amount of donation, we will ensure that we will have to give the child the best, theme parks, toys, etc. But we tend to forget that our parents have sacrificed a lot for our sake to see us happy, so it is our responsibility to ensure that their dreams are realized and what they failed to see when they were young. It is our responsibility to ensure that they experience all those and their life is complete. Many times, when my parents had asked me some questions, I have actually answered back without patience.
When my daughter asks me something, I have been very polite in answering. Now I realize how they would have felt at those moments. Let us realize that old age is a second childhood and just as we take care of our children, the same attention and same care needs to be given to our parents and elders. Rather than my father saying thank you to me, I would want to say sorry for making him wait so long for this small dream. I do realize how much he has sacrificed for my sake and I will do my best to give the best possible attention to all their wishes. Just because they are old does not mean that they will have to give up everything and keep sacrificing for their grand children also. They have wishes, too. Take care of your parents............."THEY ARE PRECISION PRECIOUS."

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)... , they will open too, because the children also will get married, and settle down on their own some day.
Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse).
You will be surprised to see that you just CAN NOT ... because Husband & Wife have to stay together all their lives - through thick and thin... !!
ISN'T THIS ROMANTIC...? ....................& Realistic?
The Holy Grass known as......................................
The Holy Grass known as Dharbha Grass.....................
The usage of Dharbha Grass is on one of the practices widely used by Indian Brahmins all over using a Holy Grass named Dharbham or Dharbai..........................In all functions, auspicious or inauspicious,a performing person needs to wear a ring made of this Dharbham. But many have lost the reason of why it is to be used in the first place.
The count of leaves depends upon the function that is held viz.: for some functions related to death only Single leafed Dharbham is used;
for Auspicious and daily routine a ring made of two leaves is used; for inauspicious but not death related functions,(i.e. Amavasya Tharppanam,Pithru Pooja etc) a three leaf Dharbham ring is used.
And for the Temple Prayer and Pooja, a Four-leaf Dharbham ring is used.
Also, when a fire ritual known as Agni Santana is performed, these Dharbham are spread all the four sides of the Agni Kundam.
Also, during the Eclipse time, these Dharbham are used to cover all food items to protect them from the harmful ultra violet radiation.
Whenever any function is held, firstly they perform a site-cleansing act known as “Sudhhi Punyaahavachanam”. While reciting the selective versus, they hold the Dharbham bunch in their hand and placing the tip point of it over the vessel containing water.
Thus the recited vibration values are absorbed by water in the vessel through the Dharbham.
They found that the Holy Grass known as Dharbham has the highest value in conducting the phonetic vibrations through its tip.Later, they sprinkle the Holy water at every nook and corner of the place, where the function is held.A Dharbham without the tip is considered of no value, as the conductor-type value is lost in it.
The usage varies according to the functions. It is really a marvel, that in those days of Vedic Era, the Sages & Saints of Hindu land used to control the Magnetic path disturbances, just by simply using this Dharbham!. Apart from the above, Dharbham cannot be planted and grown everywhere. It only grows naturally at selective places and available almost in every state in India. Some learned scholars name it after Saint Vishwaamitra - hence Dharbham is known and called as Vishwaamitra.
If it is kept for a longer time, say for more than six months, then it loses it value and the power of absorbing the radiation or magnetic path control values.
Dharbham cannot just be plucked straight or cut on any day; There is a specific Slokha that is to be recited before cutting it;
That too it can be cut only on the day next to Full Moon - known as Krishna Paksha Pradamai.
A Dharbham without its tip portion is not to be used for making a Ring like item known as "Pavithram".

Its all about Curry Leaves.................
Its all about Curry Leaves...................
1.Introduction.................
Curry leaf tree is a small deciduous tree. Most Indian cuisine cannot do without the subtle flavouring of this highly aromatic leafy spice. Curry leaf grows profusely throughout mainland. It is commonly found in forests as gregarious undergrowth along the foot of the Himalayas, from the Ravi to Sikkim and Assam, besides Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Orissa, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. The trees are also now maintained in homestead gardens, as in Kerala, or on leaf farms as in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Orissa. The western world is fast taking enthusiastically to Indian curry leaf, especially those who prefer their food to be tangy without being too hot.
2. Cultivation...............................
Indigenous to India, galanga (curry leaves plant) shows exuberant growth and fine health along the eastern Himalayas and in southwest India. India exports several varieties of galanga in different forms. However, its volatile oil attracts more international interest because of its high medicinal value.
3. Native..................................
The curry leaf tree is native to India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Andaman Islands. Later spread by Indian migrants, they now grow in other areas of the world where Indian immigrants settled. Widely cultivated, the leaves are particularly associated with South Indian cuisines.
4. Reference in Literature..........................
The use of curry leaves as flavouring for vegetables is described in early Tamil literature dating back to the 1st to 4th centuries AD. Its use is also mentioned a few centuries later in Kannada literature. Curry leaves are still closely associated with South India where the word 'curry' originates from the Tamil 'kari' for spiced sauces. An alternative name for curry leaf throughout India is kari-pattha. Kerala and Tamilnadu it is called as kariveppila. Today curry leaves are cultivated in India, Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Islands and in Africa as food flavouring.
Its leaves are highly aromatic and are used as a herb. Their formation somewhat resemble the leaves of the Neem tree; therefore they are also referred to as Kari Bevu, translated to Black Neem, in the Kannada language and Karivepaku in Telugu again translating to the same meaning. In Tamil and Malayalam it is known as Karuveppilai, ilai-meaning leaves.
Other names include Kari Patta (Hindi) and Karapincha (Sinhalese). They are commonly used as seasoning in Indian and Sri Lankan cooking, much like bay leaves and especially in curries with fish or coconut milk. In their fresh form they have a short shelf life and may be stored in a freezer for up to a week; they are also available dried, although the aroma is clearly inferior. Keeping in vegetable trays of refrigerator it will get dried up. By keeping in polythene boxes, curry leaves remain fresh for 2-3 days
5 Use................
Curry leaves are extensively used in South India and Sri Lanka. They are particularly used in South India cooking to provide a flavouring for curries, vegetable, fish and meat dishes, soups (rasams), pickles, butter milk preparations, chutneys, scrambled eggs and curry powder blends.
I do recollect the taste of Thenga chatni fried with curry leaves served in Sri Ramabhavan in Thambuchetty Street and Ratna café in Triplicane in those days. (Not now a days). Also in hot sambar and methu vadai with inchi and pachamulaka (ginger and green chilly) it gives excellent flavour
They are mainly used fresh, but are also used dried or powdered. For some recipes, the leaves are oven-dried or toasted immediately before use. Another common technique is short frying in butter or oil. Since South Indian cuisine is dominantly vegetarian, curry leaves seldom appear in non-vegetarian food; the main applications are thin lentil or vegetable curries and stuffing for samosas.
Because of their soft texture, they are not always removed before serving. Its leaves are highly aromatic and are used as a herb. However while taking food after enjoying the aroma, it is removed from food and it is consumed.
In their fresh form they have a short shelf life and may be stored in a freezer for up to a week; they are also available dried, although the aroma is clearly inferior. Though Kariveppila podi is available its aromatic value is only 30%.

6. Botanical details.......................
Botanical name Family name Commercial part
Murraya koenigii (L.) Sprengel Rutaceae Leaf
7. Sales........................
In India the leaves are sold in markets still attached to the stem. In Europe they are generally sold as dried leaves but some are imported fresh.
In Dubai I have seen in supermarket like spinnies, Looloo etc they are covered and kept in polythene bags with air holes.
7.1 Cost of kariveppila
Kerala the leaves are always charged at all times in the markets and shops. We have to ask for kariveppila separately like any other vegetable, minimum for Rs 2-00 .But normally in Tamilnadu they are given free after purchasing other vegetables. Once I asked curry leaves for price when I came to Chennai, the shop wala looked at me up and down, seeing a first fellow asking curry veppila for money. Normally they make out the cost of Kariveppila Kothamalli from other purchases! Further no retail vala is ready to give kariveppila Kothamalli alone in Tamilnadu.
8. Propagation.........................
Propagation is by stem cutting and planting from grown up plants. Normally the plants go to above 10’. It can be grown in gardens even with out manuring. When the plants are about 5’ we can take bottom leaves. The cultivation of plant keeps away snakes by its smell. In nurseries we can get pot plants which we can transfer to ground after purchasing for house gardening, Though seeds are coming in Curry leaves plant, most propagation is by stem. Sometimes automatic growing of curry plants in our garden may be due to seeds distributed by birds.
9. Restrictions....................
Many people impose restrictions for taking leaves from tree. Normally on Fridays plant is not touched for taking leaves. Evening leaves are not taken. Ladies on periods do not touch the plant. Only restricted people touch the plant. It is generally observed many a time, if we surpass restrictions the plant gets dried up. No body is ready to take risks. The plant normally yields for 5- 10 years and gets dried up.
The leaves have to be used after thoroughly washing for pesticides and other webs underneath.
10 Phrase kariveppila..................
As I told in the beginning, there is a usage“kariveppila ”in Tamil and Malayalam for using a person’ best and throw away at final after extracting from him, for the users best advantage and finally discarding with least regards to his contribution.

Bannana.................A Miracle Fruit.........
Bannana......................A Miracle Fruit............
Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!
This is interesting. After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.
Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.
But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit.
It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
Depression:..................
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PMS:.....................
Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Anemia:...............................
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
Blood Pressure:..........................
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.
Brain Power:.....................................
200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
Constipation:................................
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
Hangovers:..................................
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn:...............................
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness:............................
Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito bites:..........................
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
Nerves:..............................
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
Ulcers:..................................
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
Temperature control:......................................
Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):.................
Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.
Smoking & Tobacco Use:...........................
Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassiu! m and ma gnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
Stress:..........................
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
Strokes: ..................................
According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine, 'eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!
Warts:.................................
Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!
So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

Mathematical logic of Raama Naamam..............
Let us have some logical thinking maths with Raama Naamam...............
Once a Guru/Teacher was teaching Vishnusahasra naamam to a group of boys.
Guru chanted the slokam...........................................
"Sri Raama Raama Raamethi Rame Raame Manorame
Sahasranaama Tathulyam Raama Naama Varaanane"
and told the students..............................
" if you chant Raama naamam three times, it is equivalent to chanting the whole Vishnu Sahasranaamam or chanting Lord's Naamam 1000 times. One of the boys was very naughty and always had questions about everything the teacher said. Immediately he asked " Guro, how can three times become equal to 1000 times, I do not get the logic. Please explain to us how that equation of 3 naamams =1000 naamams works".
Guru was not only smart, but was a great devotee of Lord Raama. In one moment, Guru knew how to explain the validity of the unusual equation. He said:
Lord Shiva says that the name of Lord Rama is the sweetest of all the words & chanting this name would be equivalent to chanting the whole Vishnu Sahasranama or thousand names of Vishnu .
Here is the interesting calculation by which we can prove that 3 times chanting of Rama naamam becomes equivalent to 1000 times chanting or chanting the whole Vishnu Sahasra naamam.
Take the name Rama. It has two letters RA and MA.
When you take the consonants in Sanskrit alphabet,
RA is the second consonant in the group of five consonants Ya, RA, La, Va, Sha and
MA is the fifth in the group of five consonants Pa, Pha, Ba, Bha, MA.
When you substitute the value of RA and MA as 2 and 5
RAMA is equivalent to 2x5= 10. Then,
Sri Rama Rama Rama (iti) is equivalent to 2x5 x 2x5 x2x5= 10x10x10= 1000.
The boy was happy with the answer and started learning Vishun Sahasranaamam with full concentration and devotion.

The First ever gramaphone recording..............
The First ever Gramaphone Recording - VEDAS..................Pl Read to know
HMV had once published a pamphlet giving the history of gramophone record. Gramophone was invented by Thomas Alva Edison in the 19th century. Edison, who had invented many other gadgets like electric light and the motion picture camera, had become a legend even in his own time.
When He invented the gramophone record, which could record human voice for posterity, he wanted to record the voice of an eminent scholar on his first piece. For that he chose Prof. Max Muller of England, another great personality of the 19th century. He wrote to Max Muller saying, "I want to meet you and record your voice. When should I come?" Max Muller who had great respect for Edison asked him to come on a suitable time when most of the scholars of the Europe would be gathering in England.
Accordingly Edison took a ship and went to England. He was introduced to the audience. All cheered Edison's presence. Later at the request of Edison Max Muller came on the stage and spoke in front of the instrument. Then Edison went back to his laboratory and by afternoon came back with a disc. He played the gramophone disc from his instrument. The audience was thrilled to hear the voice of Max Muller from the instrument. They were glad that voices of great persons like Max Muller could be stored for the benefit of posterity.
After several rounds of applause and congratulations to Thomas Alwa Edison, Max Muller came to the stage and addressed the scholars and asked them, "You heard my original voice in the morning. Then you heard the same voice coming out from this instrument in the afternoon. Do you understand what I said in the morning or what you heard in the afternoon?".
The audience fell silent because they could not understand the language in which Max Muller had spoken. It was `Greek and Latin' to them as they say. But had it been Greek or Latin, they would have definitely understood because they were from various parts of Europe. It was in a language which the European scholars had never heard.
Max Muller then explained what he had spoken. He said that the language he spoke was Sanskrit and it was the first sloka of Rig Veda, which says "Agni Meele Purohitam" . This was the first recorded public version on the gramophone plate.
Why did Max Muller choose this? Addressing the audience he said, "Vedas are the oldest text of the human race. And Agni Meele Purohitam is the first verse of Rig Veda. In the most primordial time when the people of Europe were jumping like Chimpanzees, from tree to tree and branch to branch, when they did not know how to cover their bodies, but with fig leaves, did not know agriculture and lived by hunting and lived in caves, at that remote past, Indians had attained high civilization and they gave to the world universal philosophies in the form of the Vedas.

Wise Words....................
Don’t expect perfection
from yourself nor from any one else.
Perfection does not exist in this imperfect world.
A certain amount of care or pain or trouble
is necessary for every man at all times .
Many great things can be expressed in a simple word,
such as freedom, justice, honour, duty, hope.
The simple things are always hard.
He who hides reality, and always wants
to be seen as perfect, easy-going, etc.
will be accumulating tons of weight.
You’ve got to do your own growing,
no matter how tall your father was
Look at life through the wind-shield,
not the rear-view mirror.
Don’t look where you fall,
but where you slipped.

Hope is knowing that a positive outcome awaits.
Hope is not only expecting a dream to come true,

Hope is knowing that you can improve
And that you always get better with practice.
Hope is knowing that you can achieve your goals
Through hard work and persistence.
Hope is looking to the future with joy
And having an expectation of
Better things to come.
Hope is the knowledge that life is everlasting,

Never Give Up...................
One day a young lady was driving along with her father.
They came upon a storm, and the young lady asked her father, What should I do?"
He said "keep driving". Cars began to pull over to the side, the storm was
Getting worse.
"What should I do." The young lady asked?
"Keep driving," her father replied.
On up a few feet, she noticed that eighteen wheelers were also pulling over.
She told her dad, "I must pull over, I can barely see ahead. It is
Terrible, and everyone is pulling over!"
Her father told her, "Don't give up, just keep driving!"
Now the storm was terrible, but she never stopped driving, and soon she
Could see a little more clearly. After a couple of miles she was again on
Dry land, and the sun came out.
Her father said, "Now you can pull over and get out."
She said "But why now?"
He said "When you get out, look back at all the people that gave up and are
Still in the storm, because you never gave up your storm is now over.
This is a testimony for anyone who is going through "hard times".
Just because everyone else, even the strongest, gives up. You don't have
To...if you keep going, soon your storm will be over and the sun will shine
Upon your face again.

The Role of Reav Values in Life................
The Role of real Values in Life ............................
We often come across people who achieve an incredible degree of worldly success, but remain under tremendous pressure. They remain mentally stressed and physically drained. Though they achieve growth and take up additional responsibilities, their mental pressure also increases proportionately. With all the success and glory they achieve, you will find them struggling with an inner thirst for fulfillment, a hunger for personal congruency and a deep need for developing their relationships with other people. The reason for this paradox is that the fundamental values and principles of life and living that they have focused upon and much less understood.
We take it for granted that right living comes naturally as we grow up; but that does not happen. Living is a science as well as an art. To be dynamic in your field of activity and at the same time maintain peace of mind you have to be an artist of life, a technocraft of your personality. It requires specific practice, education and understanding. You need the guidanceto know the technology of life and to gain mastery over yourself and your life.
In the unguided process of living, people are craving for two things – success and peace. Success is the tribute that the world pays to excellence. True success and enduring happiness is a result of incorporating and integrating the time tested values and principles of life in every fibre of your activities in your day-to-day living and always remember................................

Reality..........................
Reality..................................
Every reality begins as a possibility. The most wonderful, enjoyable,
fulfilling things you can imagine are possibilities for you, and when you
live your life in such a way as to bring about those possibilities,
they become reality.
Today you are going to take a certain set of possibilities and turn them into reality.
Those possibilities that indeed become real are the ones you choose to follow and to support with your time, your attention, your commitment.
There is really no limit to the possibilities from which you can choose,
but there is a limit to how many you can follow at any given time.
So it pays to choose the very best of them.
Is that what you're doing?
Are you choosing and giving your energy to the best of your possibilities,
or are you just settling for the ones that fall into your lap?
Right this moment there are some certain, specific possibilities that are
being made real as a result of what you're doing, or what you're neglecting to do.
This is your opportunity to choose and to create the life to which you aspire, right now while the possibilities are being transformed into reality. Give your time and your energy to the very best of your possibilities, and take delight as your life follows right along.

EATING FRUIT...
We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.
What is the correct way of eating fruits?
IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! * FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.
If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.
FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.
In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....
So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining — every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc — actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!
Greying hair, balding, nervous outburst and dark circles under the eyesall these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.
There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.
When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.
But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!
KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.
APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.
STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.
ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.
WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene — the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.
GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content.. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.
Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer! Can u believe this?? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE': (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!) Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life
Strat the Day Strong...........................
Start the Day Strong..............and make it the way you want it to be.....
It takes only a few moments plus a little bit of energy and
Intention to get your day off to a positive, productive
Start. And the way you start your day will determine how the
Entire day goes for you.
At the beginning of the day, put the very best of yourself
Into life. That small effort will continue to pay as the day
Progresses.
Sure, you may not feel like being positive right off the
Bat. But if you wait for encouragement to come to you, then
You might be waiting all day.
Instead, be the encouragement you seek. Be the instigator of
Your own successful day.
You can be the positive influence you are waiting for. You
Can be the reason this day starts on an upbeat note.
The first few minutes of each day are ripe with opportunity.
Choose to start strong, and that strength will echo
Throughout the day.

Don't waste time calculating your chances of success and failure.
Just fix your aim and begin.
Have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.
Gentle words, quiet words, are after all the most powerful words.
They are more convincing, more compelling, more prevailing.
Happiness is perfume you can't pour on others without getting a few drops for yourself
Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.
