MURPHY'S LAWS...............................
Nothing is as easy as it looks.
Everything takes longer than you think.
Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong. Corollary: If there is a worse time for something to go wrong, it will happen then.
If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway.
If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which a procedure can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop.
Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse.
If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.
It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first.
Every solution breeds new problems.
Murphy's Military Laws..........................
Never share a foxhole with anyone braver than you are.
No battle plan ever survives contact with the enemy.
Friendly fire ain't.
The most dangerous thing in the combat zone is an officer with a map.
The problem with taking the easy way out is that the enemy has already mined it.
The buddy system is essential to your survival; it gives the enemy somebody else to shoot at.
The further you are in advance of your own positions, the more likely your artillery will shoot short.
Incoming fire has the right of way.
If your advance is going well, you are walking into an ambush.
The quartermaster has only two sizes, too large and too small.
If you really need an officer in a hurry, take a nap.
The only time suppressive fire works is when it is used on abandoned positions.
The only thing more accurate than incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire.
There is nothing more satisfying that having someone take a shot at you, and miss.
Don't be conspicuous. In the combat zone, it draws fire. Out of the combat zone, it draws sergeants.
If your sergeant can see you, so can the enemy.
Murphy's Technology Laws........................................
You can never tell which way the train went by looking at the track.
Logic is a systematic method of coming to the wrong conclusion with confidence.
Whenever a system becomes completely defined, some damn fool discovers something which either abolishes the system or expands it beyond recognition.
Technology is dominated by those who manage what they do not understand.
If builders built buildings the way programmers wrote programs, then the first woodpecker that came along would destroy civilization.
The opulence of the front office decor varies inversely with the fundamental solvency of the firm.
The attention span of a computer is only as long as it electrical cord.
An expert is one who knows more and more about less and less until he knows absolutely everything about nothing.
Tell a man there are 300 billion stars in the universe and he'll believe you. Tell him a bench has wet paint on it and he'll have to touch to be sure.
All great discoveries are made by mistake.
Always draw your curves, then plot your reading.
Nothing ever gets built on schedule or within budget.
All's well that ends.
A meeting is an event at which the minutes are kept and the hours are lost.
The first myth of management is that it exists.
A failure will not appear till a unit has passed final inspection.
New systems generate new problems.
To err is human, but to really foul things up requires a computer.
We don't know one millionth of one percent about anything.
Any given program, when running, is obsolete.
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
A computer makes as many mistakes in two seconds as 20 men working 20 years make.
The faster a computer is, the faster it will reach a crashed state.
Nothing motivates a man more than to see his boss putting in an honest day's work.
Some people manage by the book, even though they don't know who wrote the book or even what book.
The primary function of the design engineer is to make things difficult for the fabricator and impossible for the serviceman.
To spot the expert, pick the one who predicts the job will take the longest and cost the most.
After all is said and done, a hell of a lot more is said than done.
Any circuit design must contain at least one part which is obsolete, two parts which are unobtainable and three parts which are still under development.
A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that works.
If mathematically you end up with the incorrect answer, try multiplying by the page number.
Computers are unreliable, but humans are even more unreliable. Any system which depends on human reliability is unreliable.
Give all orders verbally. Never write anything down that might go into a "Pearl Harbor File."
Under the most rigorously controlled conditions of pressure, temperature, volume, humidity, and other variables the organism will do as it damn well pleases.
If you can't understand it, it is intuitively obvious.
The more cordial the buyer's secretary, the greater the odds that the competition already has the order.
In designing any type of construction, no overall dimension can be totalled correctly after 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The correct total will become self-evident at 8:15 a.m. on Monday.
Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. And scratch where it itches.
All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.
The only perfect science is hind-sight.
Work smarder and not harder and be careful of yor speling.
If it's not in the computer, it doesn't exist.
If an experiment works, something has gone wrong.
When all else fails, read the instructions.
If there is a possibility of several things going wrong the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong.
Everything that goes up must come down.
Any instrument when dropped will roll into the least accessible corner.
Any simple theory will be worded in the most complicated way.
Build a system that even a fool can use and only a fool will want to use it.
The degree of technical competence is inversely proportional to the level of management.
Any attempt to print Murphy's laws will jam the printer.
Murphy's Love Laws...........................
All the good ones are taken.
If the person isn't taken, there's a reason. (corr. to 1)
The nicer someone is, the farther away (s)he is from you.
Brains x Beauty x Availability = Constant.
The amount of love someone feels for you is inversely proportional to how much you love them.
Money can't buy love, but it sure gets you a great bargaining position.
The best things in the world are free --- and worth every penny of it.
Every kind action has a not-so-kind reaction.
Nice guys(girls) finish last.
If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Availability is a function of time. The minute you get interested is the minute they find someone else.
Murphy's Laws of sex....................
The more beautiful the woman is who loves you, the easier it is to leave her with no hard feelings.
Nothing improves with age.
No matter how many times you've had it, if it's offered take it, because it'll never be quite the same again.
Sex has no calories.
Sex takes up the least amount of time and causes the most amount of trouble.
There is no remedy for sex but more sex.
Sex appeal is 50% what you've got and 50% what people think you've got.
No sex with anyone in the same office.
Sex is like snow; you never know how many inches you are going to get or how long it is going to last.
A man in the house is worth two in the street.
If you get them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow.
Virginity can be cured.
When a man's wife learns to understand him, she usually stops listening to him.
Never sleep with anyone crazier than yourself.
The qualities that most attract a woman to a man are usually the same ones she can't stand years later.
Sex is dirty only if it's done right.
It is always the wrong time of month.
The best way to hold a man is in your arms.
When the lights are out, all women are beautiful.
Sex is hereditary. If your parents never had it, chances are you won't either.
Sow your wild oats on Saturday night -- Then on Sunday pray for crop failure.
The younger the better.
The game of love is never called off on account of darkness.
It was not the apple on the tree but the pair on the ground that caused the trouble in the garden.
Sex discriminates against the shy and the ugly.
Before you find your handsome prince, you've got to kiss a lot of frogs.
There may be some things better than sex, and some things worse than sex. But there is nothing exactly like it.
Love your neighbor, but don't get caught.
Love is a hole in the heart.
If the effort that went in research on the female bosom had gone into our space program, we would now be running hot-dog stands on the moon.
Love is a matter of chemistry, sex is a matter of physics.
Do it only with the best.
Sex is a three-letter word which needs some old-fashioned four-letter words to convey its full meaning.
One good turn gets most of the blankets.
You cannot produce a baby in one month by impregnating nine women.
Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.
It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.....unless in the mood.
Never lie down with a woman who's got more troubles than you.
Abstain from wine, women, and song; mostly song.
Never argue with a women when she's tired -- or rested.
A woman never forgets the men she could have had; a man, the women he couldn't.
What matters is not the length of the wand, but the magic in the stick.
It is better to be looked over than overlooked.
Never say no.
A man can be happy with any woman as long as he doesn't love her.
Folks playing leapfrog must complete all jumps.
Beauty is skin deep; ugly goes right to the bone.
Never stand between a fire hydrant and a dog.
A man is only a man, but a good bicycle is a ride.
Love comes in spurts.
The world does not revolve on an axis.
Sex is one of the nine reasons for reincarnation; the other eight are unimportant.
Smile, it makes people wonder what you are thinking.
Don't do it if you can't keep it up.
There is no difference between a wise man and a fool when they fall in love.
Never go to bed mad, stay up and fight.
Love is the delusion that one woman differs from another.
"Never take some one for granted, hold every person close to your heart and in esteem, because you might wake up one day and realise that you have lost a Diamond, while you were busy collecting stones." "Always be the reason for some one's happiness and never just be a part of it. Always be a part of some one's sadness, But never be the reason for it."

You Are..................................& You Can................
You Are......................& You can...............
You are strong...when you take your grief and teach it to smile.
You are brave...when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.
You are happy...when you see a flower and are thankful for the blessing.
You are loving...when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.
You are wise...when you know the limits of your wisdom.
You are true...when you admit there are times you fool yourself.
You are alive...when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's mistake.
You are growing...when you know what you are but not what you will become.
You are free...when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.
You are honorable...when you find your honor is to honor others.
You are generous...when you can take as sweetly as you can give.
You are humble...when you do not know how humble you are.
You are thoughtful...when you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.
You are merciful...when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.
You are beautiful...when you don't need a mirror to tell you.
You are rich...when you never need more than what you have.
You are you...when you are at peace with who you are not................
And You Can Do It.

A Meaninful Message.....................
A meaningful message though simple............
A wise man once sat in the audience & cracked a joke.
All laughed like crazy. After a moment he cracked the same joke again and a little less people laughed this time.
He cracked the same joke again & again, when there was no laughter in the crowd, he smiled and said,
“When u can't laugh on the same joke again & again, then normally why do u keep crying over the same subject / thing over and over again” ?????

Courage............................
COURAGE...............................
Courage is not only gifted to the few brave ones,
it is something that lies within you, Where you can
draw upon its strength and power, in time of crisis,
fear and decisions.
Courage is not something mysterious or unattainable,
It is something you can exercise in your daily life choices,
You can let it bring to you travel paths,
And make you more conscious and aware of your life.
Courage does not have to roar to be heard,
It does not mean being totally fearless and being invincible,
It could mean taking actions, taking risk, taking stand,
Standing up for yourself, standing by your choices,
And sticking to your dreams when others jeered.
Courage could be the will to live in spite of the struggles,
In spite of your fears and phobias, in spite of what others said,
In spite of criticism and disapproval's, in spite of mistakes and failures, In spite of everything that stand between you and your dreams.
Courage could mean trying over and over again when you
failed, Admitting that you are sorry when you are in the wrong,
Saying "I Love You" when your love is angry,
Having a baby when the idea of being a parent scared you,
Listening to your heart when others called you a fool,
Following your dreams even when others discourage you,
And staying true to yourself when others want you in another way.
Hold steadfast to your dreams, your heart and yourself,
And Courage will not abandon you, But follow you whenever you choose to go.

Every day is a gift............................
Every day is a Gift......................An excellent Read.
A man of 92 years, short, very well-presented, who takes great care
in his appearance, is moving into an old people’s home today.
His wife of 70 has recently died, and he is obliged to donate
his home for orphan house.
After waiting several hours in the retirement home lobby,
he gently smiles as he is told that his room is ready.
As he slowly walks to the elevator, using his cane,
I described his small room to him, including the sheet hung
at the window which serves as a curtain.
"I like it very much", he said, with the enthusiasm of an 8 year old boy who has just been given a new puppy.
"Sir, you haven’t even seen the room yet.” I wonderedly asked.
" That has nothing to do with it ", he replied.
" Happiness is something I choose in advance.
Whether or not I like the room does not depend on the furniture, or the decor – rather it depends on how I decide to see it & how I look at it."
" It is already decided in my mind that I like my room. It is a decision I take every morning when I wake up.”
“I can choose. I can spend my day in bed enumerating all the difficulties that I have with the parts of my body that no longer work very well, or I can get up and give thanks to heaven for those parts that are still in working order. "
" Every day is a gift, and as long as I can open my eyes,I will focus on the new day, and all the happy memories that I have built up during my life. "

Know the true meaning of family.......................
Know thee true meaning of family........
I ran into a stranger as he passed by,"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, "Please excuse me too;I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.
But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,My son stood beside me very still
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down."Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken.I didn't realize how harshly I had spoken.
While I lay awake in bed,God's still small voice came to me and said,
"While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use,
but in the family you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor,You will find some flowers there by the door. Those are the flowers he brought for you.He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."
By this time, I felt very small,And now my tears began to fall........I quietly went and knelt by his bed;"Wake up, little one, wake up,"I said..................
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."
I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mum, that's okay.I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too,and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."
FAMILY.........................
Are you aware that if we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family,an unwise investment indeed, don't you think? So what is behind the story?
Do you know what the word FAMILY means?...................
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

EGO Kills ..............................You.
"EGO.....KILLS YOU"...........................
There was once a scientist. After a lot of practice & efforts, he developed a formula & learned the art of reproducing himself. He did it so perfectly that it was impossible to tell the reproduction from the original.
One day while doing his research, he realized that the Angel of Death was searching for him.
In order to remain alive he reproduced a dozen copies of himself. The reproduction was so similar that all of them looked exactly like him.
Now when this Angel of Death came down, he was at a loss to know which of the thirteen before him was the original scientist, & confused,he left them all alone & returned back to heaven.
But, not for long, for being an expert in human nature, the Angel came up with a clever idea.
He said to the scientist addressing all thirteen of them, "Sir, you must be a genius to have succeeded in making such perfect reproduction formula of yourself. However, I have discovered a flaw in your work, just one tiny little flaw."
The scientist immediately jumped out & shouted, "Impossible! where is the flaw?"
"Right here" said the Angel, as he picked up the scientist from among the reproductions & carried him off.
The whole purpose of the scientist & his formula of reproduction failed as he could not control his pride, so he lost his life.
So when man's Knowledge & Skills takes him to the top of the ladder & makes him successful, however the three letter word "EGO" can pull him down to earth immediately at its double speed.
So don't allow Ego to kill yourself,
Instead oF, kill your Ego…..!!!

True Joy..................................
You Will Find True Joy Using Your Potential..........
Your greatest success and happiness in life Will be found when you use your natural abilities To their fullest extent.
Happiness is not having or being. It's in the doing.
The essence of true wisdom is to know that rest is rust,
And that real life is activity, laughter, and love.
You were created to conquer your environment,
To solve problems, and to achieve goals.
You'll find no real satisfaction or happiness in life
Without obstacles to conquer and goals to achieve.
Yes, there is true happiness.
It's found in doing a job well done,
In achieving a worthy goal, in putting your child to sleep,
And in writing the last line of your poem.
Your personal growth itself Contains the seed of happiness.

Though the pace seems to be slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of a cloud of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
Its when things seem worst - you must not quit.

Make Learning an act of Courage...........................
MAKE LEARNING IS AN ACT OF COURAGE..............
The best leaders love to learn. And the greatest organizations are learning enterprises – places where ideas are the currency of success. Yet, so many amongst us resist learning and embracing the new ideas that change brings with it.
The deeper question is why?................
What I’ve realized, as I travel across the world helping people Lead Without a Title, is that the very act of learning something new means you must also disrupt your thinking of yesterday. To accept or even just to entertain a new idea means you must leave the safety of your former way of perceiving the world and open up to something foreign. And that means you’d have to leave the protection of your comfort zone/Safe Harbor of The Known and sail out into the unknown – even for just a moment.
The unknown is a pretty scary place for most people. Ordinary people get threatened there. Victims get frightened there. And so the average person in business (and within life) avoids learning and exposing themselves to any idea or influence that might cause them to have to rethink the way they think and re-behave the way they have always behaved. But the fascinating paradox is that trying to avoid new ideas to stay safe is actually enormously dangerous – and infused with risk.
On the other hand, those who make the choice to Lead Without a Title have a lust to learn. They remain blindingly curious. They read books daily. They drink coffee with brilliant people. They have long conversations with role models whose ideas provoke/challenge/irritate them. Real leaders truly get that learning and ideation is the fuel of life. And that all it takes is a single idea to change the game at work (and rescript the story that is your life). Sure they too feel uncomfortable or even scared when faced with an idea that confronts their most closely cherished beliefs. But they understand that to resist the idea is to resist growth. As well as their next level of Mastery+Progress+Leadership. And so they move forward. Into an uncertain yet gorgeously exciting future.
The core of Happiness...........................
The Core. of Happiness.............................
Remember when you were six years old? You were simply happy. Happiness is the very nature of youth it was not taught to you. But somehow in the course of living, most people have lost this innate endowment. Modern man's greatest endeavour seems to be to reclaim the forgotten bliss of our childhood. Why does happiness seem so elusive in today's world?
Why is there so much talk about happiness today, and what does it really mean to be happy?
The first and most fundamental responsibility of every person is to become a joyous human being. Because no matter what you are pursuing in life, business, money, family or spirituality, it is just an attempt to be happy. Being happy and peaceful, considered the ultimate aspect of a successful life, is really its most fundamental aspect. Being well means to be peaceful and happy. The level of happiness, the level of peace may vary from person to person, but everyone, consciously or unconsciously, is aiming for happiness.
Then why is happiness so elusive?
People's happiness is often dependent on external situations over which they have no control. When you seek happiness through your actions, you are always enslaved by the external and thus will always face some level of suffering. It doesn't matter what a person has, he will still long to have something else all the time. Until a man finds the inner basis of happiness, he will always live like a beggar.
What is the formula for the natural cultivation of happiness?
Whatever you understand or experience as happiness, love, or peace in your life has a certain inner basis. Today if you lose your mental peace, your doctor will give you a pill. These chemicals enter your system and make you peaceful, maybe for just a little while. In other words, what you call as peace is a certain kind of chemistry within you. Similarly what you call joy, love, suffering or fear — every human experience has a chemical basis. The spiritual process creates the right kind of chemistry where you are naturally peaceful and joyous. Then the very dimension of your life, the very way you perceive and express yourself in the world will change.
One popular author suggests that even if people have a windfall, winning the lottery for example, their happiness level returns to normal after they get used to their new situation. So, is permanent fulfillment impossible?
Your life will not attain fulfillment through actions. At every stage in life you thought, "If this happens, my life will be complete." You got that and three days later threw it into the dustbin. Life did not attain fulfillment. Fulfillment will not come through an action. Only if your inner nature is complete will you attain it.
How does the practice of yoga help us to reach this state?
Yoga gives you absolute control over your interiority, elevating you from a state of external enslavement to inner completeness, the state of unboundedness.

Foot Prints.........................
Footprints..........................
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Take the gilt off the....................................
Take the gilt off the gingerbread....................
Meaning............
Remove an item's most attractive qualities.
Origin...........
This phrase has nothing to do with being guilty of anything of course -'take the guilt off the gingerbread' is just a misspelling. The word is 'gilt', which refers to a thin layer of gold. Gingerbread is a form of cake and, although the association of the two words seems a little odd, gingerbread cakes were in fact gilded for festivals and other special events in the Middle Ages.
The word gingerbread has been recorded in English since the 13th century; it was originally a form of simple cake flavoured with treacle and, not surprisingly, ginger. It was, and is, frequently made as a form of biscuit, by rolling out the dough and cutting it into shapes - men, animals, letters of the alphabet etc.
Gold can be hammered to a minute thickness to form gold leaf. This can be 'gilded' to many different surfaces, including cake, and is harmless when eaten in small quantities - hence its use as a culinary decoration.
The expression 'taking the gilt off the gingerbread' isn't found in print until the 19th century, but the practise of gilding gingerbread cakes was probably in place well before that, as 'gingerbread' has been used as an adjective meaning 'showy and insubstantial' since the 17th century. Gingerbread without its casing of gold leaf was a rather humble offering - often little more than flavoured stale bread, and not likely to attract a reputation for showiness. Using present-day parlance, ungilded gingerbread was more minging than blinging. An early reference to that disparaging usage of gingerbread is found in The History of the tryall of Cheualry, 1605:
Anticke! thou lyest, and thou wert a Knight of ginger-bread: I am no Anticke.
The first evidence that I can find in print of 'take the gilt off the gingerbread' is from The New Zealand newspaperThe Lyttleton Times, February 1854:
To borrow a homely expression, it was determined in taking the gilt off the gingerbread.
The 'homely expression' reference indicates that the phrase was already known, in the Antipodes at least, by 1854.
Take the gilt off the gingerbread Sadly, gingerbread men (now often politically corrected to 'people') have had the gilt taken off them and are now usually clad with icing sugar.

It's not a rocket science...............................
It's not rocket science..........................
Meaning
It (the subject under discussion) isn't difficult to understand.
Origin
It is probably no surprise to hear that this phrase is American in origin. Of the English-speaking countries, America was the first to adopt a sustained programme for the development of rocket science. The first people who were widely known as rocket scientists were a group of German military technologists, who were transported to the USA in 1945 following their capture by allied troops in WWII. Other similar groups were transported to the UK and the USSR.
Albert EinsteinLed by Werner Von Braun, the US group had previous expertise in the field, having developed the V-2 rocket that had been used to attack London and other targets earlier in the war. Their success during the 1940s and 50s in developing the sophisticated technology required for military and space rockets, was the reason for rocket science being equated in the US public's mind with outstanding expertise. The perceived equation of 'rocket scientist = German = clever' can only have been enhanced by the persona of another German scientist of acknowledged genius, who was also working in the USA at the time - Albert Einstein.
The pre-eminence of German scientists in the space race was highlighted by a quotation from 1957, following the Soviet launch of Sputnik-1, the first orbiting satellite. The supposed reply to President Eisenhower's question "How did the Russians get there first?" was "Their Germans are better than our Germans". Many people have been attributed with the coining of that quip, which is a sure sign that no-one is now sure who said it first. It seems rather unlikely that the presidential conversation actually happened, but the line did reflect the national sentiment in the USA at the time and that feeling was the spur for even more German scientific manpower to be deployed, leading to the successful moon exploration programme, in which Von Braun was a central player.
If, by 1950, rocket science was generally accepted as being intellectually difficult and outside the capabilities of the average Joe, where and when did relatively undemanding tasks start being said to be 'not rocket science'? The answer to that is - the American Football field in the 1980s. Most of the early citations of 'not rocket science' relate to football; for example, this piece from a sports report in the Pennsylvania newspaper The Daily Intelligencer, December 1985:
"Coaching football is not rocket science and it's not brain surgery. It's a game, nothing more."
Prior to the 1980s, 'brain surgery' had been the occupation that simple tasks were said not to be. 'It's not brain surgery' dates from the 1960s. Before that, straightforward tasks were simply said to be 'as easy as pie' or 'as easy as falling off a log'.

Once in a Blue Moon........................
Once in a blue moon...........................
Meaning............Very rarely.
Origin.....................
Ask the man on the Clapham omnibus the question 'What is a blue moon exactly?' and you are likely to get one of three answers:
1. Duh.
2. It's the second full moon in a calendar month.
3. It's when the moon looks blue.
Let's start with 3. Very occasionally, the moon actually does appear to be blue. This sometimes occurs after a volcanic eruption, like that of Krakatao in 1883. Dust particles in the atmosphere are normally of a size to diffract blue light, making the moon appear reddish at sunset. Larger volcanic dust particles diffract red light, making the moon appear bluish.
Tempting as it is to suppose that something that happens very rarely, and which is mentioned by name in a phrase that means 'very rarely', is the source of the phrase, it probably isn't.
Actual examples of the moon appearing blue would in fact be the exception that proves the rule, as the 'blue moon' was originally something that was considered not rare but impossible. The two notions, 'a blue moon' and 'the moon is made of green cheese', were synonyms for absurdity, like 'pigs might fly'.
The 'blue moon' expression with the 'impossibility' meaning is old and dates back to mediaeval England. For example, a work by William Barlow, the Bishop of Chichester, the Treatyse of the Buryall of the Masse, 1528, included a sarcastic reference to a blue moon:
If they saye the mone is belewe, We must beleve that it is true.
In the following year, John Frith's essay A pistle to the christen reader, 1529, included:
"They wold make men beleue... that ye mone is made of grene chese."
Only after several centuries, and after the original usage had long since died out, did 'once in a blue moon' come to mean something that didn't happen very often. The earliest example of it that I can find is in Pierce Egan’s Real Life in London, 1821:
How’s Harry and Ben? - haven’t seen you this blue moon.
Moving on to answer No. 2. To explain that one we have to follow a long trail of etymological research, leading back to an American amateur astronomer called James Pruett.
Since 1819, The Maine Farmers' Almanac has listed the dates of forthcoming blue moons. The compilers of the almanac had their own definition of what blue moons are. This derives from the fact that lunar and calendar months aren't quite the same and that some years have 13 full moons. In a typical 12-moon year, the moons all have names, like the familiar 'Harvest Moon', 'Hunter's Moon' etc. In a 13-moon year the extra moon is, somewhat arbitrarily, deemed to be the third moon in the season that has four rather than the usual three, and is called the 'Blue Moon'. The aforementioned James Pruett read an edition of the Maine Farmers' Almanac, but misinterpreted the system and printed the 'second full moon in a month' version in a 1946 edition of the Sky & Telescope Magazine. For some reason, probably because it ended up being printed as an answer in an early version of Trivial Pursuit, Pruett's version has gained currency.
Two full moons in a month isn't really all that rare an occurrence - it happens approximately every three years. Despite it being both inaccurate and coined by mistake, Pruett's No. 2 answer is now widely accepted as a definition of 'blue moon'.

Drag Race..................................
Drag race................Meaning....................
A race between road vehicles - usually two vehicles over a quarter mile straight track and from a standing start. The race is essentially a competition to determine which vehicle has the greater acceleration.
Origin.......................................
My first thoughts on the origin of the term 'drag race' brought to mind images of horses and hounds chasing after a scent left by dragging a smelly carcass or cloth along the ground. Those thoughts were probably due to the recent increase in the number of drag hunts in the UK, since the rather ineffective ban on fox hunting was introduced in 2005. While it is correct that hounds have been raced along scent trails since at least the early 1900s and that this continues, it turns out that the US sport of drag racing has only a very tenuous connection with anything being dragged along.
To trace the origin of the 'drag race' we need to go back to the pre-supercharged days of the 1500s, when a drag was a heavy sledge that was dragged by horses. This form of cart without wheels was known from the 14th century, under the name of dray. In the 1570s, Elizabeth I introduced various legislative acts that were collectively known as the Poor Laws. The 1576 act included this text:
Sleades, carres, or drags, furnished for... repairing... high wayes.
Road flattening work is these days done using heavy wheeled vehicles called scrapers.
Neither the mediaeval sleds nor the modern day scrapers seem to be the stuff of drag racing, so where's the connection?
That connection comes in the 18th century, by which time smaller drags/drays were being used for the hawking of goods, and the poor souls who hauled them around had the ingenious idea of adding wheels. Samuel Johnson defined such a vehicle in A dictionary of the English Language, 1755:
Drag ... Somewhat like a low car: it is used for the carriage of timber, and then is drawn by the handle by two or more men.
Before long, the term 'drag' came to be used for the thoroughfares along which drags were trundled. The poor get in on the act again (they are always with us, after all) in Henry Mayhew’s London Labour and the London Poor, 1851:
Another woman... whose husband has got a month for "griddling in the main drag" (singing in the high street).
The 'roadway' meaning of drag was transferred from England to the USA and, in the 1950s, the teenage pastime of racing cars 'along the main drag' began to be called 'hot rodding' or 'drag racing'. There are also references to dog drag races in publications throughout the 20th century, but the earliest that explicitly mention cars come from from the 1950s. An example of that comes in this heartfelt piece from The Southeast Missourian newspaper in June 1950, entitled Teenage Crime:
"There have been entirely to many hot rod exhibitions of fender tagging and drag racing.
Before long the street pastime became a sport, first taking place on disused airstrips and later on purpose-built drag strips, the US National Hot Rod Association being formed in 1951. So, the link to the original meaning of drag is almost lost - drag racing is no longer done with or on drags and nothing is dragged along.
My initial imagery might have had more linguistic validity had I opted for a picture of camp gentlemen in wigs and frocks racing each other. That 'men dressing as women' meaning of the word drag actually does derive from dragging something along - in that case female impersonators dragging long dresses across the stage.

AS PLEASED AS PUNCH.........................
As pleased as Punch ......Meaning.........Very pleased.
Origin............................
'As pleased as Punch' derives from the Mr. Punch puppet character. Punch's name itself derives from Polichinello (spelled various ways, including Punchinello), a puppet used in the 16th century Italian Commedia dell'arte.
Punch and Judy shows, the popular summer-time entertainments on British beaches, have been somewhat in decline from the latter half of the 20th century onward, due to them being seen as politically incorrect. That's hardly surprising as the main character Punch is a wife-beating serial killer.
In performance, the grotesque Punch character is depicted as self-satisfied and delighted with his evil deeds and squawking "That's the way to do it!" whenever he dispatches another victim. Nevertheless, there is still what might be called a folk affection for the old rogue in the UK and it would be a shame to see the tradition fade away completely.
The show had an Italian origin and has been much changed over the years. It began in Britain at the time of the restoration of the monarchy in the 17th century. Samuel Pepys' Diary has an entry from 1666 that shows this early origin and also the popularity of the show even then:

The phrase 'as pleased as Punch' appears fairly late in the story. The earliest known record is from William Gifford's satires The Baviad, and Maeviad, 1797:

'As pleased as Punch' is now the most common form of the expression. When the term was coined it was just as usual to say 'as proud as Punch'. Charles Dickens, for example used the two terms interchangeably in his novels. For example:
David Copperfield, 1850: I am as proud as Punch to think that I once had the honor of being connected with your family.

When your chance comes, You must have the equipment to take advantage of it.
The race is not to the swift Or the battle to the strong, For time and chance happen to everyone. Take a second look at what appears To be someone's "good luck."
You'll find not luck but preparation, Planning and success-producing thinking. When you're prepared for opportunity Your chance for success is sure to come.

Philosophy of Upanishads.............................
Random Teachings from the Upanishads.......................
Here are a collection of teachings from various Upanishads.
No one can understand the sound of a drum without understanding both the drum and the drummer.
Let one therefore keep the mind pure for what a man thinks, that he becomes.
The only way to know it is to become it.
Self-knowledge is the best of all forms of knowledge; through it, one attains immortality.
Know yourself, so what you’ve done won’t burn you. Nor will what you’ve left undone.
As is the human body, so the cosmic body; as is the human mind, so the cosmic mind; as is the atom, so the Universe.
The spirit down here in man and the spirit up there in the sun, in reality are only one spirit, and there is no other one.
Out of abundance he took abundance and still abundance remained.
In a world where everything changes the divine is everywhere present.

What does Upanishad Teach us??
What do the Upanishads teach us?...............
The authors of the Upanishads did not all think alike; but, taking their meditations as a whole, we may say that they are dominated by one paramount conception’ that of the ideal of oneness of the soul of man with the soul of the universe.
The Sanskrit word for the soul of man is Atman and the word for the soul of the universe is Brahman.
‘God’s dwelling place’, says Professor Radhakrishnan in this exposition of the philosophy of the Upanishads, ‘is the heart of man. The inner immortal self and the great cosmic power are one and the same.’
Brahman is the Atman, and the Atman is the Brahman. The one supreme power through which all things have been brought into being is one with the inmost self in each man’s heart.’
What is real in each of us is his self or soul. What is real in universe is its self or soul, in virtue of which its All is One, and the name for which in our language is God.
In other words of one of the Upanishads: ‘He who is the Brahman in man and who is that in the sun, these are one.’

Motivational Teachings
Motivational Teachings....................
The Vedanta recognizes no sin, it only recognizes error. And the greatest error, says the Vedanta, is to say that you are weak, that you are a sinner, a miserable creature, and that you have no power and you cannot do this and that.
Every time you think in that way, you, as it were, rivet one more link in the chain that binds you down; you add one more layer of hypnotism on to your own soul. Therefore, whosoever thinks he is weak is wrong, whosoever thinks he is impure is wrong, and is throwing a bad thought into the world.
This we must always bear in mind that in the Vedanta there is no attempt at reconciling the present life with the ideal; but this false life must go, and the real life which always exists must manifest itself, must shine out.
No man becomes purer and purer; it is a matter of greater manifestation. The veil drops away, and the native purity of the soul begins to manifest itself. Everything is ours already – infinite purity, freedom, love, and power.

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad
Thoughts on Creation from Brihadaranyaka Upanishad..................
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad contains several ideas of creation of the universe and living beings. Here is one such idea found in it.
He, verily, had no delight. Therefore he who is alone has no delight. He desired a second. He became as large as a woman and a man in close embrace. He caused that self to fall into two parts. From that arose husband and wife. Therefore, as Yajnavalkaya used to say, this body is one half of oneself, like one of the two halves of a split pea. Therefore this space is filled by a wife. He became united with her. From that human beings were produced. (Chapter 1, 4, 4).
Dr S Radha Krishna explains this idea as –
Both are his elements. The two are not separate and the theory is not one of final dualism.
The original being, atman or self, looks around and sees nothing else but himself. When he realizes his loneliness, he has two feelings one of fear and the other of desire for companionship. His fear is dispelled when he realizes that there is nothing else of which he has to be afraid. His desire for companionship is satisfied by his dividing himself into two parts which are then called husband and wife.

Osho on Why Hindus Don’t use the Word God-Fearing..................
In English we have a word, ‘god-fearing,’ for religious people. A god-fearing person can never be religious, because if you fear God you cannot love him. Love and fear cannot exist together.
With fear, hate can exist, love cannot exist with fear, anger can exist, love cannot; with fear you can bow down, but you cannot surrender; with fear you can be in a relationship between a slave and a master, but there cannot be a love relationship.Be God loving
Hindus and Buddhists have a totally different attitude, and that attitude is different because they think the whole existence is a cosmic play; you can be playful.

Thoughts on Happiness..............................
Swami Chinmayananda Thoughts on Happiness..................
On a careful analysis we find that man’s happiness is entirely a subjective phenomenon, for there seems to be a distinct and clear relationship between the state of his mind and the joy or sorrow that is experienced by him. When the mind is agitated, sorrow is experienced and when it is tranquil, there is joy. Happiness, therefore, is measured by the tranquility of one’s mind.
Man, the roof and crown of creation, has the unique capacity of quieting his mind without helplessly depending upon the objects around him. But this capacity now lies dormant in him and he, unaware of it, foolishly tries to procure happiness through the objects of the world, which have only a false glitter of joy. They can give, indeed, no enduring and everlasting satisfaction.
Our great religious books help to awaken and promote this dormant faculty in man. He need not run after the sense objects to attain some fleeting experiences of joy. He can get engaged in a more permanent and a fuller happiness, which is wholly independent of the availability of agreeable objects and environment.

Repetition of Holy name of God.............
Repetition of Holy Name of God.............
Repetition of the Holy name of the Lord is very good. The mind will become pure through it. While repeating the name of the Lord you should keep remembrance of the Lord in your mind. Such repetition and remembrance will do much good. Mere repetition without the remembrance of the God will not be of much use.
As you proceed with meditation you will see that you are, getting more and more realization. There is no use in merely reading the Shastras (Sacred Scriptures) and discussing about them.
By meditation the mind will become pure, and when the mind becomes pure, realization of God follows as a matter of course. Ordinarily, we hold our mind on worldly matters. No result worth the name comes out of this. But if we fix our mind in the pure thought of God, we will feel a taste of divine bliss.

Judge: Why did you hit your husband with a chair?"
Wife: "I couldn't lift the table."
"What did one ghost say to another?"
"Do you believe in people?"
My friend has a fine watch dog

They call our language the mother tongue because the father seldom gets to speak.
"Room Service? Can you send up a towel?"
" Please wait someone else is using it."

"Where did you get those big eyes?"
"They came with the face."
I went alone on our honeymoon. My wife had already seen Niagara Falls .
But the psychiatrist really helped me a lot. I would never answer the phone, because I was afraid. Now I answer it whether it rings or not.
It was love at first sight. Then I took a second look !!

"Good. You see where they go and I'll find out where they came from."
"Do you think I"ll lose my looks as I get older?"
"Yes if you're lucky."

"Has there been any insanity in your family?"
"Yes, doctor. My husband thinks he's the boss."
I was thinking of becoming a doctor.
I have the handwriting for it.

"Why don't you give your husband a divorce?"
"What, I have lived with him for ten years and now I should make him happy?"

Law of Seed...................................
Law of the Seed......................................
This is a very good piece of thought.Read carefully and relate it to your life.
The Law of the Seed.................
Take a look at an apple tree. There might be five hundred apples on the tree and each apple has ten seeds. That's a lot of seeds!
We might ask, "Why would you need so many seeds to grow just a few
more apple trees?"
Nature has something to teach us here. It's telling us:
“Not all seeds grow. In life, most seeds never grow”.
So if you really want to make something happen, you had better try more than once."
This might mean:...........
You'll attend twenty interviews to get one job.
You'll interview forty people to find one good employee.
You'll talk to fifty people to sell one house, one car, one vacuum cleaner, one insurance policy, or a business idea
And you might meet a hundred acquaintances just to find one special friend.
When we understand the "Law of the Seed", we don't get so disappointed.
We stop feeling like victims.
We learn how to deal with things that happen to us.
Laws of nature are not things to take personally.
We just need to understand them(Facts of the nature and its realities) - and work with them.................and get along with them without making any FUSS & FUN.

Growing old and living life Gracefully..............
Growing Old and living life Gracefully .....................& leaving the planet earth.................
There was a rest home for elderly ladies. Being experienced in looking at people and discerning the type of lives they had lived, seeing these ladies who sat grumbling, one could see the types of lives they lived in their marriages. I would say that all but two in the entire group had hung divorce over their husband's head all through life. That is how they got their way: "If you don't give me what I want, I will divorce you!" But there were two souls sitting there who were also suffering, but they were happy. They had an inner joy. The conditions weren't too good--they never are in such places--but these two souls sat happily observing, and one could see that they were understanding what they observed. That is the secret of growing old, being able to understand what you observe.
To grow old gracefully and to get away from the habit of just growing old naturally and thus physically and emotionally losing the spirit entirely ,you have to plan ahead. You have to know where you are going. Everyone who goes on in life is going to get old, believe it or not. But we can pass through those years beautifully, providing the balance is right. You get that right balance by following good advice and conquering the mistakes that you have made in the past and making them right.
When we are selfish, and flare up and lose control of ourselves, we are like animals. When we reflect understanding, have control of ourselves and use our will to conquer our lower nature, we are using the Godly part of our mind. That's why people must do just exactly what they want to do. It is either the spiritual being that is stronger, or the animal within them that is stronger. If they control the animal nature, then what happens? The spiritual being automatically takes over.
If they live according to the rules of the animal nature, then what happens? They snuff out the spirit, they snuff out life, and they decay. Decay immediately sets in. It is terrible to think about, but that's the rule. That's what happens. That's why we have basic laws and basic principles to abide and live by. If we live by them, automatically good things will happen. You don't even have to wish or hope. Good things will just automatically come along. And if you don't live by the laws, automatically things that aren't too palatable present themselves before you, and you get entangled in them quite automatically.
So, let's think about the years to come. Let's see if we are laying the foundation for our mature years to rot away, or to become beautiful and content and happy with ourselves. Look into your home right now. Look at your life. What are you doing now? What have you done? What are you going to do? Do you have a foundation for a future that is real and permanent and full and joyous and happy? Or is your life like a child's sandbox? These are the things we have to face as we look ahead to our own advanced age.
So, don't visit any Gurudeva (God man) every and say to him, "You gave a very nice upadesha, Gurudeva. I really got so much out of it....." Rather,go back in ten years and let him see by your radiant face how much you got out of it. That will make him happy. Let him see by your tomorrows and how you meet challenges when various things come up that you should do and you are given advice on what to do,how you face them, how polite you are, how kindly you are, how understanding you are.,how caring and concerning you are ................and that will show and prove your sincerity, your reality, your character and true nature as living human being..................And always remember to.......................................................
"Do good, and leave behind you a monument of virtue
that the storms of time can never destroy.
Write your name in kindness, love, and mercy on the
hearts of thousands you come in contact with year by
year, and you will never be forgotten. Your name and
your good deeds will shine as the stars of heaven. "

Main Duties of Parents.............................
Main Duties of Parents..................................
The fundamental duty of parents is to provide food, shelter and clothing and to keep their children safe and healthy. The secondary duty is to bestow education, including instruction in morality and religious life.
Assuring the health and well-being of their offspring is the most essential duty of parents to their children, never to be neglected. Beyond this, parents should provide a good example to their children, being certain that they are taught the Hindu religious heritage and culture along with good values, ethics, strength of character and discipline. Sons and daughters should worship regularly at puja their parents, and the Hindu sacraments should all be learned. Education in all matters is the duty of the parents, including teaching them frankly about sex, its sacredness and the necessity to remain chaste until marriage. Children must learn to respect and observe civil law and to honor and obey their elders. Parents must love their children dearly, and teach them to love. The best way to teach is by example: by their own life, parents teach their children how to live. The Vedas declare, "Of one heart and mind I make you, devoid of hate. Love one another
as a cow loves the calf she has borne. Let the son be courteous to his father, of one mind with his mother. Let the wife speak words that are gentle and sweet to her husband." .....................................
Learn to live diligently with dignity, decency,
divinity, dedication and decorum to fulfil and attain
your mission of life's vision."
AND
"Do things rightfully, gracefully, confidently &
articulately, and to end up successfully- this will
gratify many and astonish the rest."

The Right to Lead..........................................
"Be one whom others can trust to take them where they want to reach."
Any group/team activity needs a good leader and leadership is much ahead of Management as in the words of Prof. Drucke.........Management is doing things RIGHT and the leadership is doing the RIGHT things.
One definition on leadership that had the touch of common sense is that of Lord Moran of Britain who was a Medical Officer in the British Infantry battalion during world war I in France and according to him Leadership is the capacity to frame plans that will succeed and the faculty to persuade others to carry them out in the face of all difficulties even danger to life.
The definition has two parts , one deals with the capacity to frame programmes/plans/projects and the second one with the capability to persuade others to implement them.And...................................

Gaining Self-Control
Gaining Self-Control
Perhaps the biggest battle in the beginning stages of practicing attention and concentration is the control of breath. The beginner will not want to sit long enough, or not be able to become quiet enough to have a deep, controlled flow of breath. After five minutes, the physical elements of the subconscious mind will become restless. He will want to squirm about. He will sit down to concentrate on the flower and begin thinking of many other things that he should be doing instead: "I should have done my washing first." "I may be staying here for a half an hour. What if I get hungry? Perhaps I should have eaten first." The telephone may ring, and he will wonder who is calling. "Maybe I should get up and answer it," he thinks and then mentally says, "Let it ring. I'm here to concentrate on the flower." If he does not succeed immediately, he will rationalize, "How important can breathing rhythmically be, anyway? I'm breathing all right. This is far too
simple to be very important." He will go through all of this within himself, for this is how he has been accustomed to living in the conscious mind, jumping from one thing to the next.
When you sit at attention, view all of the distractions that come as you endeavor to concentrate on one single object, such as a flower. This will show you exactly how the conscious and subconscious mind operate. All of the same distractions come in everyday life. If you are a disciplined person, you handle them systematically through the day. If you are indisciplined, you are sporadic in your approach and allow your awareness to become distracted by them haphazardly instead of concentrating on one at a time. Such concerns have been there life after life, year after year. The habit of becoming constantly distracted makes it impossible for you to truly concentrate the mind or to realize anything other than distractions and the desires of the conscious mind itself.
Even the poor subconscious has a time keeping up with the new programming flowing into it from the experiences our awareness goes through as it travels quickly through the conscious mind in an undisciplined way. When the subconscious mind becomes overloaded in recording all that goes into it from the conscious mind, we experience frustration, anxiety, nervousness, insecurity and neuroses. These are some of the subconscious ailments that are so widespread in the world today.
There comes a time in man's life when he has to put an end to it all. He sits down. He begins to breathe, to ponder and be aware of only one pleasant thing. As he does this, he becomes dynamic and his will becomes strong. His concentration continues on that flow. As his breath becomes more and more regulated, his body becomes quiet and the one great faculty of the soul becomes predominant--observation--the first faculty of the unfoldment of the soul.
We as the soul see out through the physical eyes. As we look through the physical eyes at the flower and meditate deeply upon the flower, we tune into the soul's vast well of knowing and begin to observe previously unknown facts about the flower. We see where it came from. We see how one little flower has enough memory locked up within its tiny seed to come up again and again in the very same way. A rose does not forget and come up as a tulip. Nor does a tulip forget and come up as a lily. Nor does a lily forget and come up as a peach tree. There is enough memory resident in the genes of the seeds of each that they come up as the same species every season. As we observe this single law and pierce into the inner realms of the mind, we see the flower as large as a house, or as small as the point of a pin, because the eyes of the superconscious mind, the spiritual body, can magnify or diminish any object in order to study it and understand it. To know
this,to experience this, is to develop willpower to transform oneself into the knower of what is to be known. Yes, willpower is the key, the must, the most needed faculty for spiritual unfoldment on this path. Work hard, strive to accomplish, strengthen the will by using the will. But remember, "With love in the will, the spirit is free." This means that willpower can be used wrongly without the binding softening of love, simple love. Say in your mind to everyone you meet, "I like you. You like me, I really do like you. I love you. I truly love you." And always bear in mind..................................................................
"There is nothing you cannot be,
There is nothing you cannot do,
And there is nothing you cannot achieve,
All you have to have is "BELIEVE IN YOU."

Be Good to Yourself.................................
Trust yourself,You know what you want and need.
Put yourself first,You can't be anything for anybody else unless you take care of yourself.
Let your feelings be known,They are important.
Express your opinions,It's good to hear yourself talk.
Value your thinking,You do it well.
Take the time and space you need.Even if other people are wanting something from you.
When you need something, don't talk yourself out of it.Even if you can't have it, it's ok to need.
When you are scared, let someone know.Isolating yourself when you're scared makes it worse.
When you feel like running away, let yourself feel the scare.Think about what you fear will happen and decide what you need to do.
When you're angry, let yourself feel the anger.Decide what you want to do.
Just feel it, express it, or take some action.
When you're sad, think about what would be comforting. When you're hurt, tell the person who hurt you.Keeping it inside makes it grow.
When you have work to do and you don't want to do it,
Decide what really needs to be done and what can wait.
When you want something from someone else, ask. You'll be okay if they say no.Asking is being true to yourself.
When you need help, ask.Trust people to say no if they don't want to give.
When people turn you down,It usually has to do with them, and not with you.
Ask someone else for what you need.
When you feel alone, know there are people who want to be with you.
Fantasize what it would be like to be with each of them.Decide if you want to make that happen.
When you feel anxious, let yourself know that in your head. You've moved into the future to something scary And your body has gotten up the energy for it.
Come back to the present...............................................
When you want to say something loving to someone,
go ahead. Expressing your feeling is not a commitment.
When someone yells at you, physically support yourself By relaxing into your chair or putting your feet firmly on the floor.
Remember to breathe. Think about the message they are trying to get across to you.
When you're harassing yourself, stop. You do it when you need something.
Figure out what you need and get it.
When everything seems wrong,You are overwhelmed and need some comforting.
Ask for it. Afterwards, you can think about what you need to do.
When you want to talk to someone new and are scared, breathe.Don't start rehearsing, just plunge in.If it doesn't go well, you can stop.
If you're doing something you don't like to do,, Stop.Think about what you really want.If you're stuck and can't think clearly, talk out loud to someone.
When you can't think straight,Stop thinking. Feel. When you're in need of love, reach out. There are people who love you.
When you're confused, it's usually because you think you should Do one thing and you want to do another.Dialogue with yourself or present both sides to a friend.
When you feel harried, slow down.Deliberately slow your breathing, your speech, and your movements.
When you have tears, cry. When you feel like crying and it's not a safe place to cry,Acknowledge your pain and promise yourself a good cry later.
Keep your promise.
When everything seems gray, look for color. If one of these rules seems wrong for you, talk about it with someone. Then, rewrite it so it fits you.But............................

How To Keep Your Mind Sharp................................
The importance of keeping your mind sharp cannot be overstated. We’re all part of a fantastic intellectual and information economy, which thrives on ideas, creativity and intelligence. Keeping your mind sharp is sure to give you the edge over the competition, and more importantly lead to your own higher levels of happiness.
When your mind is in good order and shape, you will........................
Have greater motivation and focus.
Get more useful things done.
Come up with more creative ideas.
Find inspiration more often.
Remember more and more.
Experience a better and healthier life.
Follow the following few practises that you will find are extremely beneficial in keeping your mind sharp and can help you as well............
1) Continue reading, absorbing knowledge and experiencing culture
Sorry to use a clichéd quote,
"Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself."
It should be something pleasurable and done for intrinsic reasons above all else. Read books on subjects both within your field and in new fields you know nothing about; watch lectures on fascinating new subjects; read about ancient societies; take in a new form of art you’ve never experienced; you get the idea. Challenge your mind to continually broaden your horizon and soak up new information like an infinite sponge (that’s pretty much what it is, you should use it to do just that).
2) Learn a skill or craft you’ve never tried before like playing an instrument, composing music, painting, building a model air plane, or even coding computer programs.
Engage your mind in learning a new skill. You’re never too old to do this, but this is definitely something you should start as young as you can. I started composing my own music at around 17, and in retrospect I wish I had started even younger. You’d be surprised how much learning a new skill will open up many new paths in your mind and help you become even better at whatever you are already an expert at. You’ll also open yourself up to tons of new connections and intellectual social circles by engaging yourself in a new hobby, form of art, or trade.
3) To improve memory don’t write everything down
If you can, try this for a week: write down everything you need to do at the beginning of the week, as you normally would, but take your list and put it out of sight. Instead of keeping that list visible at your desk, internalise your projects and simply remember and know what needs to be done, prioritise it in your mind, and do it. Your brain is extremely powerful and you’ll find that, in time, you may not have to write anything down to remember everything (you can still keep a list for reference, but it’s great not to need it).
4) Give your mind time to assimilate knowledge
We live in a culture where we are constantly experiencing and learning new things and taking in new information. This is a great thing, I’m not going to go into the information overload spiel, I don’t really believe in that anyway (you are in total control over how much information you take in at once). But in your process of absorbing new skills, knowledge and life experiences; internal analysis of yourself, what you have learned and where you are going is vital to put everything in proper perspective. Some people do it well during running, others through listening to music, and some people through making art. Find your own place that allows you to assimilate all you have learned and frequent it often.
5) Eat well, sleep well and exercise often
Giving your mind the proper rest and energy is essential to getting the best performance out of it. This one is pretty self explanatory, but people often forget that you need proper fuel and proper rest to function optimally. Also, putting your physical body through the paces is a surefire way to rejuvenate yourself mentally. If you’re ever feeling stressed, out of inspiration, or depressed, a few days of nutritious food, good sleep and vigorous exercise will put you back to your full self soon enough.

How to control Mind............................
How to control the Mind...........................
The first lesson in controlling the mind is self awareness; sit for some time and let the mind run on. Let the monkey mind jump as much as he can; you simply wait and watch.
(Swami Vivekananda used to compare a restless mind to a to a restless monkey which is stung by the scorpion of jealousy, drunk with the wine of desire, and possessed by the demon of pride.).
Give the monkey the rein; many hideous thoughts may come into it; you will be astonished that it was possible for you to think such thoughts. But you will find that each day the mind’s vagaries are becoming less and less violent, that each day it is becoming calmer. In the first few months you will find that the mind will have a great many thoughts, later you will find that they have somewhat decreased, and in a few more months they will be fewer and fewer, until at last the mind will be under perfect control; but we must patiently practice every day.

Safety.............Even beyond the control of God.......
Safety - even beyond God's control at pilgrim centres in India?
It seems like even Gods can't guarantee safety to his devotees in their own holy places. Stampede and deaths have almost become a routine ritual in the religious places of India. Who do we blame for such disasters? - the government, religious authorities or the devotees?
Fresh news emerges from Kerala's Idukki district that at least 100 pilgrims are feared dead in a accident and nearly as many injured- triggered stampede. The pilgrims were returning after having darshan of the deity at the Sabarimala shrine on the auspicious makara sankranty day.
This is the latest of the deadly disasters at the Indian religious places claiming many lives. At least 63 devotees were killed and thirty five injured in a stampede at an ashram in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh in March 2010. It was in September 2008, on the occasion of the start of Navaratri, nearly 150 people lost their lives and over 425 injured in a stampede at the Chamunda Devi Temple in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Naina Devi temple in Himachal Pradesh also witnessed a similar incident in the same year which claimed almost 150 lives. Eight people were trampled to death in March 2008 in Karila village in Madhya Pradesh. The 2005 stampede incident in Mandhar Devi temple in Maharashtra claimed nearly 300 lives. These are some of the deadly disasters the country has seen in the last few years. Almost 700 lives were lost in eight years in temple stampedes in India.
Some say 'life comes pretty cheap in India' and such sad incidents prove it. It should be noted that many of these incidents happen during the festivals known to everyone and so an unexpected crowd can always be expected. Blame game has become the part of the show that starts after all such tragic events but yields no good even to God- neither to the victims nor to the system.
The authorities should learn from some of the well-run religious places such as Tirupati which even has unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) surveillance as part of its security enhancement plan. The town is it is well connected by air, rail and road. The well managed independent trust, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which employs more than 14,000 people, provides proper transportation, accommodation and meals to the pilgrims. The improved infrastructure in the temple town has attracted large investments from various industries including IT.
This is not the case in most of the religious places across India. Most of them do not have proper crowd management measures. Ambulance and medical facilities are rudimentary in most cases. A well-designed action plan for proper crowd movements and disaster management is almost non-existent. Mass events conducted by the so-called self-proclaimed living Gods without proper permission or knowledge of the local authorities lead to such disasters. The police force is often incompetent to deal with this situation as they are not given proper training, trials or equipments.
The gross mismanagement and apathy by the government and its local authorities are often responsible for such untoward events. When negligence of the authorities are well exhibited by the fact that many such mammoth gatherings were allowed to take place in very small places without proper measures to control the large crowd movement.
It is obvious that any sudden rush of the panic gripped devotes will result in such tragedies and if we do not take adequate measures to put an end to this, then even Gods won't be able to help his devotees. For majority of the Temple authorities/Governments and other related Agencies/Department the view is very clear in their mind and message......
"MONEY IS..................REST IS NOT" amassing money at the cost of the pilgrims/devotees and taking their valuable lives away....................
What an Unethical system and corrupt practise prevailing in our country scaring and fearing poeople even to go to God's place of worship.!!!!!!!!!!!

Importance of paying attention.........,...
Importance of paying attention & Hassles of Not Paying attention............Pl Read.
I st year students of MBBS were attending their 1st anatomy class.
They all gathered around the surgery table with a real dead dog.
The Professor started class by telling two important qualities as a Doctor.
The 1st is that NEVER BE DISGUSTED FOR ANYTHING ABOUT BODY,
e.g. He inserted his finger in dog's mouth & on drawing back tasted it in his own mouth.
Then he said them to do the same.......................
The students hesitated for several minutes.
But eventually everyone inserted their fingers in dog's mouth & then tasted it.
When everyone finished, the Professor looked at them and said:...........
The most important 2nd quality is OBSERVATION, I inserted my Middle finger but tasted the Index finger.
Now learn to pay attention.....................................
Moral:......................
Life is tough but it’s a lot tougher when you are not paying attention
