On Upanishad................

“AUM”

Mandukya Upanishad.

Let’s know in brief on “Mandukya Upanishad.

Upanishad means:-

“Upa” means…………….. “Near”
“Ni” means……………..”Down”
“Shad” means……………..”To Sit”

To sum up, Sit near to the Guru to learn, practice and experience means and goals of (Sadhna) practice.

“Mandukya Upanishad” outlines the rich and divine philosophy of, and practice of “AUM” mantra.

It is also said and believed that cream of Vedas is Upanishad, and the cream of Upanishads is in the “Mandukya Upanishad”, therefore one can very well understand the importance and significance of Mandukya Upanishad.

The invocation verse of Mandukya Upanishad is very important, sublime, divine and rich and one can try and chant this verse daily to attain happiness and contendment. The invocation verse is re-produced below for the benefit of the readers.

Om! Bhadram karnebhih s'rnuyāma devāh
bhadram pasyemākṣhabhiryajatrāh
sthirairangaistushtuvam
sastanūbhir vyaśema devahitam
yadāyuh svasti na indro vriddhaśravāh
svasti nah pūṣhā viśvavedāh
svasti nastārkṣhyo ariṣhtanemih
svasti no brihaspatirdadhātu
Om śāntih; śāntih; śāntih "

Meaning in English.

Om. Shining Ones! May we hear through our ears what is auspicious; Ye, fit to be worshipped!

May we see with our eyes what is auspicious;
May we, endowed with body strong with limbs, offering praise, complete the full span of life bestowed upon us by the divine beings;
May Indra, of enhanced fame, be auspicious unto us; May Pushan, who is all-knowing, be auspicious unto us;
May Tarkshya, who is the destroyer of all evils, be auspicious unto us;
May Brihaspati bestow upon us auspiciousness!

Ganapathi Seersha Upanishad.

Ganapati Atharva Seersha [From Atharvana Veda] Translated by P. R. Ramachander

[Ganapathi Atharva Seersha is a part of Atharvana Veda. It is classified as an Upanishad and not as a chant. But this is considered universally as the greatest and most effective prayer addressed to Lord Sri. Ganesha.

This is also called Gana Upanishad or Ganapthi Seersha Upanishad,]

OM Namasthe Ganapathaye Thwameva prathyaksham thathwamasi

Thwameva kevalam karthasi.

Thwameva kevalam Dharthasi

Thwameva Kevalam Harthasi

Thwameva sarvam khalvidam brahmasi,

Thwam sakshath athmasi nithyam

. Hritham Vachmi. Sathyam Vachmi

. Sathyam Vachmi. . Ava vaktharam.

Ava srotharam. Ava datharam.

Ava dhatharam, Ava noochana mava sishyam.

Ava paschathath Ava purasthath

. Sarva Jagad idham thwatho jaayathe.

Thwam bhoomir aapo analo anilo nabha.

My Salutations to the Lord of Ganas,

You are the direct experience of you as me,

You are only the doer of all works, (creator)

You are only the bearer of all burdens, (one who looks after)

You are only the one who destroys(destroyer)

You are the supreme God who conquers,

And you are the real imperishable soul.

Speak that which helps, Speak only truth.

Protect me,Protect those who speak.


Protect those who hear.

Protect those who make it pure,

Protect the giver,

Protect me and my students.

Protect west. Protect east, Protect north. Protect South,

Protect above. Protect belowc

. You are that which makes me speak.

You are filled with joy, filled with Brahmam.

You are the one without second truth, mind and bliss.

You are the Brahmam which is directly experienced.

You are filled with wisdom and filled with science.

All the universe originates from you,

All the universe exists because of you.

All the universe finally mixes within you.

All the universe is nothing but you.

You are the earth, water fire, air and the sky,

You are the four types of speech and all the words.

Aum Sri Maha Ganapathaye Namaha.
