What's Meditation?

Diverting the mind from idle and useless wanderings and concentrating on a single object i.e the "Supreme God" with sincere efforts for attainment of realisation is meditation.

In the beginning stages , one's efforts at meditation may not be generally so successful due to the wandering nature of of the mind in other words known as distraction of the mind. But with unrelenting effort, faith and regular practice at fixed times one can retain meditation for longer intervals with shorter frequencies and in the developed stage it Will become natural, easy and a routine affair in the day to day living.

The objective of the mediation is to dispense with all other thoughts and direct the mind to dwell on God or Self only and remember that when the mind is "buoyant" it will be difficult to practice meditation.

With devoted effort,unstinted faith and strong belief coupled with regular practice, meditation becomes a way of life.
